  1. I love watching movies. I like Korean movies, although I can just understand it because of the subtitles.I also like watching English movies. One of my favorites is The blind side of Sandra Bullock. I like the plot of the story. The story is based on the life of Michael Oher, a professional football player. His struggles in life and how he became one of the famous player with the help of a white rich woman named Leigh Anne Tuohy and her family.

  2. In learning new language, I saw a books that seem too complicated for me. I did not continue reading it. Instead of helping me learn, I got confused. Another thing I avoid is stressing or pushing my self too much in learning. If I'm tired or if I can feel that I need to rest, I rest then just start again after resting.

  3. I want to learn this language because it will really help me in my job. There was one time that I had a spanish patient who can't speak English. I really had a hard time communicating with him. I have a very limited spanish words and that did not help me at that time. I realized the importance of learning a new language. I should not be satisfied with what I learned, instead I need to strive harder in learning more.

  4. Try watching a videos or movies in spanish. If you can find someone you can talk to in spanish the better.  Another thing you can do is read books that are written in spanish. I also feel the same with my german, it's been a year since I heard a real conversation. And there are many words that I already forgot.

  5. I know some who migrated to US and when they were young and now they can't speak their native language. They started speaking english and use it everyday so they can learn faster. The problem is, they are now fluent in english but don't know how to speak their native language. They can understand, but they can't speak anymore.

  6. Actually TOEFL is the most sought-after examination because for almost any job application where English proficiency is necessary.

By enrolling in TOEFL you play safe and eventually you can get other certifications, but of course, problem is many times is pricing involved.

I agree with you that it is safer to take TOEFL than IELTS.  In my case I can take any of the two and I selected IELTS. There are some jobs and universities  that preferred  TOEFL than IELTS.

  7. Hallo Eva, welcome to linguaholics. I used to worked in Chicago and I also been to germany last year. I stayed there for few mos for a vacation. I'm also trying to learn German at the moment. I find it hard to do that since I don't hear it very often unlike when I was there. Anyway, I hope you will also enjoy being here as much as we do.

  8. For me the best language to learn would be a language I would need, for example if going to live in a new country or having a job that requires languages. Other than that English is a must, everyone speaks English these days.

I agree with this. I can learn any language but the problem will I be going to use it regularly. I'm learning German, because I want to learn more about the country, people and culture. I'm also looking for a possibility of moving there in the future. I think what ever language that you think can help you in the future is the right choice to learn.

  9. For me English is the easiest language to learn. I'm saying this because I started learning since I was a kid. Now that I'm older and trying to learn another language, it is very hard now. I guess learning new language varies from person to person. I can say English is easiest for me, but not for others.I guess, it just depends on the person learning.
