Is English the easiest language ever?
falcon001 replied to Gelsemium's topic in English Language | Discussion
English has a lot easier grammar than Spanish, or German I can tell you that. If it's the easiest language to learn it's hard to tell. As you've said it's the most common language in the world, I guess that makes it easier to learn. -
I think that it should be ok to say that something is bull**** on a forum, but I find it impolite so I try not to write that. I hope that this particular word will be accepted on every forum.

Learning a language on a course or with private tutor?
falcon001 posted a topic in Language Learning
I learned English with a private tutor and I think that it helped a lot. I know more than the people who went on courses. The advantage of studying with a tutor is that he is forcing you to focus, while at a lecture it is very easy to lose your focus. What do you think is a better way to learn a language? -
I learned English mostly through movies. I think that movies are a great source of new words and the proper way to form a sentence. Unfortunately, most movies lack good grammar, but movies enrich our vocabulary, so it's important to watch movies while learning the language you want to learn.

What sparked your desire to learn another language?

I want to work abroad, so a third language is one of the conditions. I have to learn Spanish Intermediate level in a year and a half. -
How long does it take to learn a new language?
falcon001 replied to simply934's topic in Language Learning
I think that it depends on what level you want to be. If you want to reach the intermediate level, it will probably take about a year to reach, but if you want to get to advanced level it might take years to get there. Be consistent and persistent and you will reach your goal. -
What sources do you use to learn a new language?
falcon001 replied to Azurix's topic in Language Learning
I use an audio book, and I write on Spanish forums, because Spanish is the language I am trying to learn. I sometimes talk to strangers from Spain on Facebook. Some of them accept me and are willing to talk to me. -
Anyone afraid to "fail" in learning a language?
falcon001 replied to TheStoryteller1's topic in Language Learning
I am always afraid of failing and I see it as a good thing. It keeps me motivated, if I am not afraid, I tend to procrastinate. I am learning Spanish and I am learning with a deadline. It is better to study with a deadline, otherwise you will hardly make yourself learn. -
Use a how-to book to learn a new language?
falcon001 replied to Denis Hard's topic in Language Learning
I use an audio book, there is an explanation how every word is pronounced. It comes with a grammar explanation also. You should get some audio book, or you should try some language course. -

Hi, I am Falcon001 from Macedonia, I am very happy that I've found this site to share my passion to learn languages with other people. It seems like I've found the right place for that.

I use google translate to translate taxes, because I can't find anywhere else, about taxes in English. I've used in the past for school projects and it's terrible most of the time. I wouldn't count on google translate for translating.

I study about 2-3 hours a day, at least I try to study up 2-3 hours every day, but some days I cannot manage or find the time. One day I focus on vocabulary, other days it's grammar or speaking.

I use online dictionaries, I am too lazy to search in a book. It is to tiring to look for a word in a book, and it could be very disappointing when you won't find the word you are looking for. I haven't tried dictionaries with pictures, but it seems like a good idea to learn.
