  1. I am also afflicted by the delay plague. When I get on a roll, I post quite quick. Maybe reduce the time to 60 or 45 seconds, perhaps? Otherwise, I end up losing my train of thought... poor thing... The sad thing? I'll have to wait 150 seconds after I post this reply...

  3. After one quick wikipedia check, here is the results, SpringBreeze; Cambodia, a tiny bit of Thailand, and one little segment of Vietnam. Hope that helps.
  4. I kind of get a kick out of finding the origins behind a word. Thats why I am learning Sanskrit before Hindi. For example, Namaste is a compound of "nama" and "ste", meaning, "I salute you". In modern Hindi, it simply means "Hello". I rest my case.
  5. Ah, your statement is only flawed in one aspect... The michel thomas method works at astonishing speeds, as you do not forget anything. The full basic foundation of any of the languages takes about 8 hours, tops. Advanced? 4 hours. Any course beyond that is variable.
  6. My goodness! Mauritius! Yes, you are de first from this beautiful Island. Good luck with your Journalism, and welcome to Linguaholic!
  7. Oh my! More people pouring in from all over the world! Jamaican Creole sounds lovely. Wouldn't mind learning a little beside my current Russian. Welcome to Linguaholic!
  8. While I am not fluent enough in another language to write in it, I find French far more poetic in meaning. Just see the translation for Edith Piaf's "Non, je ne regrette rien" http://www.metrolyrics.com/non-je-ne-regrette-rien-lyrics-edith-piaf.html So, yes, I would love to. I mean, Russian I find too logical to be poetic. Am waiting until I learn Hebrew or Arabic to start on that. :karate:
  9. Greetings Rhotta! Sorry about late response. Yes, it does sound strange. It does sound like cheating. But in a way, it is. Would you like German or Russian first? I have German Foundation, I have Russian Foundation & Advanced, plus the booklets, so, which would you like first?
  10. I agree, this is exactly my opinion. Simply knowing Latin is enough to get an eyebrow raised. Ego conveniunt. Haec est mea sententia. Plane scire Latine satis impetro an supercilium resurrexit. (Translation: What I just said) (Used Google Translate)
  11. Seems nobody replied to this plea! So please don't call me a necro, I'm just trying to help. I have not heard of Khmer, but here is some stuff... http://www.omniglot.com/writing/khmer.htm http://www.tourismcambodia.com/tripplanner/general-travel-information/learn-khmer.htm http://www.bongthom.com/akonline/ http://www.101languages.net/khmer/free-cambodian-course/ Enjoy!
  12. Sorry about late reply, I was at a boat and the connection popped out. Then just forgot. But yes, the thread would be useless if only one person jumped in. It would be tough. :doubtful: So, instead of an entire section, maybe we could post some online resources for Polish. For example... http://www.fluentin3months.com/polish/ http://www.skwierzyna.net/learn_polish.htm http://www.linguanaut.com/learn_polish.htm http://mowicpopolsku.com/ http://www.polishcourse.org/ http://www.101languages.net/polish/ May this assist you in your journey(and mine, soon!)
  13. Yeah, I also text with proper english. Difference: this 4 u. njoy This is for you. Enjoy
  14. Oh my... how I envy you... Only kidding. :wacky: I feel like that when I write Russian. As I am unfamiliar with Russian spelling, I know when a word is wrong. However, I don't know enough to put it right. I feel your blessing.
  15. I too am influenced by that nasty burden. I think the general message is; it comes in time. Just pronounce, by yourself, and as you develop you will roll more and more. Gracias.
  16. Ah OK, that makes sense. "I am ready to complete the trials, master." LOL Thankyou for your speedy reply.
  17. Just noticed something. When I was looking at this forum, and was not logged in, there was an off-topic section. When I logged in, it dissapeared. :shy:
  18. Well, you can get the disk 1 of the Spanish Foundation here on 4shared. http://www.4shared.com/mp3/ROpjAZfQce/Michel_Thomas_Spanish_Disk1.html This was legally acquired, and it is available for free. On 4shared. If you guys are interested in Russian, Polish, Spanish, Dutch, Greek, or German, I can host the Foundation and(when applicable) the Advanced.
  19. Definitely. Like learning Mandarin, all the eastern languages get easier. My mother, for this reason, is learning French and Spanish side-by-side.
  20. Well, you've come to the right place! If your interested, I can send you some spanish Michel Thomas, if ye wish...
  21. OK, I did not mean anything by it, I was simply replying as I am. Lets leave this before it turns into a flame war. Shall we?
  22. wow goncalo, did not know you could learn icelandic that easily! It is on my list of languages. I love the scenery of the land of ice and fire, however, I have not studied it enough. On my schedule!
  23. Hi Fellow Language Enthusiasts! Has anybody tried learning through the Michel Thomas Method? Quite interesting, makes you learn the way a child learns, taking in words bit by bit and absorbing it logically. Makes you join in, and work with your brain. Have you tried it? If anyone wants a taster, I can post a free demo.
  24. Mmm, point seen. I guess we should start doing more mini-forums, for more acquired tastes. My main incentive is the Michel Thomas Method, and Polish neighbors.
  25. Wow, complex! However, rather logical. Your actually supposed to say how your life is when asked. In english, you just say "great" or "fine". :karate:
