  1. I also imagine whenever I read novels. I think it's the best part of reading. It gives readers the freedom to imagine what they are reading. This is also why some get disappointed when they watch the movie adaptation of the book they have read. The scenes are far from what they have imagined while reading the book. It's fun to imagine!
  2. I always feel nervous before any exam especially if I haven't got enough time to review my notes. I'm not that type of student who will be contented to just pass an exam. I always want to give my best and I even strive to get the highest score in class. I'm competitive. But when I know the subject very well and I really review my notes, it lessens the anxiety that I feel before exams.
  3. I continuously improve my grammar by reading grammar books, taking online grammar tests, and proofreading. When I became a proofreader that's when I started to be very meticulous in my grammar. Also, I focus more on my weaknesses such as prepositions and punctuation. It will also be helpful to have someone who is very good in grammar, so you can have explanation and answers to your questions.
  4. When I was in college, I had a French subject and I wanted to be fluent in it. However, I had difficulty in learning it specially in pronunciation (I gave up!). Now, I want to learn Korean or Japanese. I love watching Korean dramas and I want to understand them without the help of English subtitles. Also, I love watching anime that's why I want to learn Japanese too. I had a Japanese boss also that's why I got interested in learning their language for effective communication. But now, I have no spare time to devote in learning new languages.
  5. I like reading paper books. I love using bookmarks, highlighting my favorite lines, looking at the pile of books I've read, and I even like the smell of books (that might sound weird). I have tried reading an e-book once but I didn't enjoy reading it. It easily caused eye strain to me. I'm the type of reader who will finish reading a book in one sitting if it's really a good one, so I think I would not be able to do it with e-books. Also, you will have to worry about the battery of your device because it will only last for a number of hours. I haven't tried using audio books yet, but I have no intention of doing so. I'll stick with paper books.
  6. I usually correct the grammar and spelling of those people who are only very close to me. They are those who I know for sure that won't get offended or anything. But for someone else, I just silently correct their grammar/spelling on my mind. I just can't help it and it's because I have worked as a proofreader before. Also, I have seen a lot of Facebook posts of my friends which are ungrammatical, but as much as I wanted to correct their sentences in the comment box I just ignore them. They might block me if I corrected their posts.
  7. When I was in high school, I used text shortcuts a lot because that's how my contacts texted me also. I used shortcuts specially when I'm typing long text messages. However, since I started studying in college I have been using proper English whenever I text. I have been conscious of using upper & lower cases, punctuation, spelling, etc. This is mainly because I was studying Bachelor of Arts, Major in English back then. And now, it bothers me when I receive text messages with shortcuts. It's like an eyesore to me!
