  1. There was actually an article recently posted which I saw on Facebook and it said that even though we don't realize we are doing it when we speak another language, like the natives, our whole character changes with the language we are speaking. We take on culture traits and we impose them through speaking. Until I read about it I didn't realize I was doing it but next time you are having a conversation with someone think about what you would be saying if you were using your own language.

It's actually a fact that our characteristics change to a certain point unconsciously when we speak another language which is not our mother tongue.

  2. TOEFL is widely accepted but again as everyone has said it depends on the country you are residing in. Most Cambridge Tests are known world-wide but you would have to have them translated and apostatized to be accepted in where you are. But saying that most English exams can be taken in your home country or wherever you are residing and also be accepted. It's just a matter of researching it and asking local schools and Universities. It also depends on what you need it for...

  3. Whoever said that :) Everyone loves my British London accent but I really don't understand what is so appealing and as for the rest of the accents, i.e Scottish I haven't a clue what is being said and would take me a lot of nodding and pretending to understand before I finally caught the gist of what they are saying. I love Spanish and Italian accents though.

About the misconception that Brits are posh - the world is so wrong, we are probably the least posh people ever and most likely only 0.1 % of the population speaks the Queens English....

  4. Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some beautiful Italian love quotes that are grammatically correct and not just translated on Google, I'd prefer some from native speakers with a rought translation. Look forward to learning with you all :)

  5. This is such a funny post. I get confused probably 50% of the time and don't even know I'm doing it until I get funny looks from my Mother who only speaks English. I will go off into a deep discussion and only mix words up in another language or I will go to answer in English but come out in Bulgaria. The funniest thing is when I'm writing and suddenly I will start a sentence in English and end in Bulgaria, I don't even know I'm doing it though!!! The joys of being bi-lingual.

  6. Hi,

I've looked all over the internet but because have such a little understanding of Spanish I'm not sure whether what I'm reading is correct or not. Can you all share with me some Spanish love quotes that actually are grammatically correct please with a translation of what they mean :) Thanks again everyone

  7. Wow, I am dating a South-American who only speaks Spanish and Italian. We get through on the little English he speaks but it would be great if we could communicate in one language. As I'm all for learning another language and have the time available I thought it would be nice to make an effort. I also think Italian is a very sexy language and I would love to sing my music in Italian. Not quite sure how that is going to work out though!

  8. Hi,

I am an English native speaker and after taking two years to learn Bulgarian, which is with a whole different alphabet and one of the most difficult Eastern European language to learn I would say picking up a third would be easier for me than it was when I started to learn my second language.

Russian is very similar to Bulgarian so that is a plus. I have picked up a bit of Turkish while living here and I must admit I take it in pretty quick now the language switch has been turned on. Whether it's easy or not if you want to learn, you can.

  9. Hi everyone,

My name is Atanas. I am currently living in Bulgaria, fluent in both Bulgarian and English. I am currently learning Italian and Spanish and would love to meet all of you out there who either knows Bulgarian or learning Spanish or Italian. It would be great to get to know you all better, so tell me all about yourself.
