  1. It does help me a lot because I actuallly live i na Hispanic country and therefore, I have to speak Spanish most of the time, however, I really wish I had somebody I can speak English with just for practicing purposes, it would be such a great and fun thing.
  2. I'm a native Spanish speaker myself and I don't really consider that Spanish is somehow related to Italian in any way, however, there are several words and phrases that sound the same, I don't really think that it could be considered as an interrelationship between both languages, but yes, sometimes you'll confuse it with Spanish, mostly if you're learning. Portuguese is the language that's closer to Spanish, that definitely is related to Spanish in many ways.
  3. This makes a lot of sense since most people are afraid of talking to other people and therefore, they are not too interested on learning the whole oral process. There are many people who find it kinda hard and difficult because of the simple fact you have to develop an accent and all that sort of improvement that you have to get ahold of in order to make your oral skills something valuable and fluent, it really requires practice and time, which is something that the majority of the language learners don't really have. That's just my opinion.
  4. I have never considered myself a big fan of paid courses since all they do is suck all of your money and turn the learning process into something annoying and also boring. I don't really know which course you're attending to, but it must be really fun and interactive for you to consider it as a good thing, for real. Courses are basically another school where you'll be oblied to study and therefore, you will end up hating it. That's my opinion though.
  5. This is absolutely true. Numbers are some of the most important thing a person has to learn when trying to master or somehow manage a foreign language, however,I don't really believe that listening to the lottery would be the best idea ever, there are many other things you can listen to in order to learn the numbers such as YouTube videos, also, there are several songs you can listen to which say a lot of numbers and that sort of thing, you only need to be creative with it. Good luck.
  6. It will be easier depending on the teacher because if the teacher is that kind of guy/girl that likes teaching others the same way they learned and got taught, they probably will give you tips and shortcuts to finally master or dominate the language you're trying to learn, it also depends on many other factors, but that's the one I think stands out the most. Happy learning!
  7. Certainly ,the thing I love and enjoy the most of knowing another language is the fact you feel different from the crowd, there's always going to be that vibe that will make you feel superior to many other people around you (when talking about education and self preparation). There are many people out there who think that learning a new language is a stupid or useless thing, but they don't even know what they'retalking about.
  8. Well, when it comes to school's language classes, I always used to miss them and that sort of thing just because I was too lazy to wake up early at 6 am just for attending to such boring class, also the teacher used to be really annoying and absolutely boring for me. I never failed any exam so it definitely didn't affect me whatsoever. The language classes you receive at school are quite useless and poor, that's my opinion though.
  9. It's acceptable, but both ways could work for you in any ways, it's just about practicing, it doesn't really matter who or what you do it with.
  10. All I can tell you is that Spanish is a way better, easier and more enjoyable language to learn, believe me, I speak both Spanish and English and I really feel done with them, however, if you're planning on moving to any Arabic country or region, then you probably should go ahead and study Arabic languages. I wouldn't recommend you to learn Arabic since the majority of the companies hosted there can communicate in English, but Spanish will be way more useful for you. Happy learning.

    Hola!

Hello everybody! It's such a pleasure for me to become part of these forums, I am pretty sure of that I will be able to learn a lot of new things as well as I will share my experiences with you all. Hopefully, I can spend a great time here and have a lot of fun! Best regards!
  12. I started learning English when I was around 11 years old, everything seemed to be really hard, but I managed to turn it into my second language besides Spanish. I really consider myself a good and fluent English speaker so far.
  13. Well, I do not really like sharing my secrets, but since this is a great community, then I will just go ahead and share some tips. Well, first off, never pay for a course of any kind, courses are like school and I know you do not like going to school so it is going to be the same feeling, you will get bored, annoyed by the teachers, you will get tired and that's not really the way a person can get to learn something properly. For the second tip, we have PRACTICE, yes, practice is what's going to take you to the highest hill, but if you never practice, then you're not evolving and your learning process is going to be slow as a turtle and I am pretty sure you don't want that to happen. Most people say they do not have anything or anybody to practice with and that's a total lie, it's 100% confirmed by me that you can practice with absolutely anything and at anytime, excuses such as "I do not have time" "I do not have anybody to talk with" "I need to pay a course to get motivated" do not make any sense at all, if you really want something you can jump the tallest wall to get it, that's for sure. Good Luck and Happy Learning!
  14. I used to use Google translator to translate full sentences back in the days when I was in the learning process, it used to be a mess because most people I talked to were able to notice of the grammar mistakes and whatnot. I really consider that translator as a useful tool for those who like searching up for words' meaning and that sort of thing, but I do not really think it's a good translator when it comes to full sentences, it just does not work with these.
  15. Well, I have been practicing my English skills for around five years so far and it has been kind of a rough process for me. Everything was harder than I ever though, I had to practice over and over again every single day of my life, until I finally found shortcuts to make that process something easier and more enjoyable to pass through, I used to talk to myself, yes, that's what I've been doing for quite a while now, it's the best way to practice your abilities so you can judge yourself and fix your own mistakes by listening to yourself, that's my opinion though.
  16. I personally think that translations are not too accurate. The same thing happens when they translate from English into Spanish, a sixty percent of the phrases and dialogues they translate does not have anything to do with what the real audio says. I do not really understand why it has to be like that, maybe because they feel they're giving the dialogues more sense and whatnot. I also think that it sounds really awkward, at least it has happened to me when I'm watching translated movies, sometimes I am like "wow, he did not say that" and yes, that's odd.
  17. Not really. I personally think that language classes at school were really boring and therefore, I did not even have the interest on paying attention to the classes, I really found it really annoying, however, I've always considered it as the best way for people to learn the basics of any language without having to struggle too hard. I've got to meet a lot of people who have learned English basics just by listening to their school classes, of course, they do not speak it fluently nor either anything like that, but at least they try to achieve something bigger than just the basics, that's my opinion though.
