Something that is nested is fully contained within something else of the same kind. Think of this as an i and if-else statement. The if-else statement allows a choice to be made between two possible alternatives. Sometimes a choice must be made between more than two possibilities.

For new translators, I think the hardest thing is to avoid being literal in your translation. You need to find your style and be able to convey the intent of the original source message while making sure it reads correctly and smoothly in your target language.
