Then don't look any further...I am going to share a link that shows you the most frequent Chinese characters. As mentioned already, the most frequent Chinese character in modern Chinese is 的。Therefore, this is character number one on the list. It is a good idea to study the chinese characters according to frequency. So, for instance you could create Flashcards with the 100 most common Chinese characters, then go on with the 200 most common Chinese characters and so on. Of course, you might want to learn some characters according to the textbook you are using in class (or somewhere else), but as a basic rule, it makes sense to study the characters according to that list.
