  1. I would say if you speak Cantonese, just part of Chinese people would understand you, mostly who are Cantonese in southern China. If you speak Mandarin, majority or most of the Chinese people would understand.
  2. I like Spanish, which sounds so romantic. The pronounce every phonetic symbol clearly. Spanish songs are nice too!
  3. I guess method of studying a language is almost all same, it's just learning and practicing, the more you learn, the more you know. The more you practice, the more fluent you become.
  4. I guess it's better to learn simplified Chinese (Mandarin), which is popular and acceptable almost anywhere as long as there are Chinese speaking people. If you speak traditional Chinese (Cantonese), only people of south (especially in Guangdong province) will understand you, and maybe Chinese living in Singapore and Malaysia could also understand you. But if you speak Mandarin, almost people in Whole China will understand you, and Chinese in Singapore, Malaysia, etc. could also understand Mandarin I guess.
  5. Each word may contain one character, two ... till many characters, depending on the word itself. I don't think if there are popular characters than others. If you wanna read and write Chinese besides speaking and listening, it's better to study from the characters, if just for communication, maybe learning the pronunciation with Latin words would be okay. And it also depends which kind of Chinese language you wannna learn, Cantonese (traditional Chinese ) or Mandarin (simplified Chinese).
  6. Generally it means the action is continuous at the specific moment.
  7. Would like to give some correction to the Chinese content actually: 建身教练陈艳 __ 健身教练陈艳
  8. I didn't see any section in the forum for suggestion, so I'm writing it here. While making the post, there's some verification stuff below, which we need to fill, whereas I don't see this kind of things in other forum. I would say it's not so good for members in the forum, maybe people feel uneasy and won't come and post again. Please consider to do some improvement, thanks.
  9. My bachelor degree is an English program, so yea, English is part of the education.
