  1. Haha, well, I would have to say my native language, English. But that is probably because I am used to my own language and it is the language I am most comfortable with and most aware of.
  2. I starred in highschool. French was the first language I started learning, but I've forgotten most of what I learned. Right now, I'm interested in learning German, but perhaps one day I'll try to learn French again.
  3. I like them all. All accents are unique to me. I don't have a least favorite.
  4. I do it all the time. I'm not sure if you're supposed to though, but it's how I've always talked/typed. Some sentences just don't look right without "but" in front of them and it needs to be there for the sentence to make sense.
  5. I'm a very fast reader. Sometimes I have to remind myself to slow down. Once in a while I'll read out loud to help me understand things better, especially when I'm studying a language.
  6. Welcome to the forum! Enjoy your stay! You'll learn a lot here.
  7. approximately how long did it take you? I understand that it's different for everyone, but in your personal experience, did it take longer than you imagined or did you learn quicker than you imagined?
  8. I think speaking is the hardest. Pronouncing words that are in a different language is very difficult for me. I don't seem to have any other problems other than remembering, which takes time.
  9. Thank you for posting this. It is very hepful. Lots of useful information here.
  10. I like music. Listening to music could be a fun way to learn some of a new language. I don't think I've ever listened to any music that was a different language than English, however.
  11. Correct grammar is very important to me, in all languages. It may take some time to get it right, but I feel incorrect grammar makes a person seem a little uneducated.
  12. I've never heard that word, either. I do agree though, it is very annoying. I'm glad I don't ever hear it. LOL
  13. The videos are really helpful. I have trouble figuring out how to pronounce words, so this thread is really useful.
  14. Well, I'm half German, but I don't know the language. I'd like to visit Germany one day. I also like the way the language sounds.
  15. It might sound aggressive to people who aren't used to hearing it. I don't think I've ever heard German in person. I think it would be a lovely language to learn. It sounds unique. (:
