  1. Darth Vader: Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father. Luke Skywalker: He told me enough! He told me you killed him! Darth Vader: No. I am your father. Luke Skywalker: No... that's not true! That's impossible! From one of my favorite movies, The Empire Strikes Back. A very emotional scene.
  2. I live in Canada, and we use "cheque". When I'm dealing with people from the United States though, I spell it "check".
  3. Some people like to be corrected, because they can learn from it, while others feel silly when someone does it, especially within a group of people. You really need to use your best judgement when it comes to the person, or you could always take them aside when you're alone and tell them then.
  4. It's really hard to say, because when comparing languages, what levels are you comparing? For example, I can see it being confusing for someone who hasn't mastered English to learn the plural of certain words. Like the plural of box is boxes, but then the plural of ox is oxen, and the plural of goose is geese. This can be frustrating.
  5. Hey guys, I've been meaning to get back into learning a few languages for a number of years now, but even though I started many times, I always ended up straying because of other priorities, and since learning a language needs to be consistent, I'd end up deciding to start over again, many, many times. I took a few Italian and French courses in high school, but unfortunately a lot of the information has been lost due to not using it. I'd like to get back into these two languages, although it would probably be a better idea to do one first, and then move onto another one after I've mastered the first.
