  1. If you're still learning the ropes of speaking English, then homonyms/homophones might be a source of confusion. For instance, I don't know whether it's deliberate or not but people tend to mix up "their" and "there." The former connotes plural ownership while the latter points out a location.

Common homonyms to watch out for (be careful not to interchange them when typing):

    • to, too and two
    • fair and fare
    • poor and pour
    • your and you're

Thank you for sharing information homonyms.

Ah yes, I think those scientific words top the list of the weirdest words or spellings ever. I wonder who came up with such names. They made it hard for us to memorize them when we were still studying!

Just look at them. They're a drag to read:

    Actinopterygii - Ray-finned fishes

Agalychnis callidryas - Red-eyed tree frog

    Ailuropoda melanoleuca - Giant panda

    Alces americanus - American moose

    Amblyrhynchus cristatus - Marine iguana

    Amphibia - Amphibians

    Animalia - Animals

    Anser indicus - Bar-headed goose

    Anseriformes - Waterfowl

    Antilocapra americana - Pronghorn

    Anura - Frogs and toads

Aplysia californica - California sea hare

    Archilochus colubris - Ruby-throated hummingbird

    Arthropoda - Arthropoods

    Artiodactyla - Even-toed ungulates

    Aves - Birds

    Interesting post.

  5. I do not stress over exams, but being human I do get nervous. How nervous I am depends on how prepared I am? I remember going to an exam very much unprepared and tears came to my eyes as I cried over the grade that I knew I would get. But what that lesson taught me was that it does not matter so much  how you perform at something but that it is best that you have the experience of trying it out.fully

    fully agree with you.

  6. It sounds like you mean just listening to the language in order to learn it. Like hearing people speak it or trying to learn it from a television show. This could be very difficult depending on the language and I wouldn't recommend learning that way. It might be easier for young children to pick up on stuff like that when they don't know anything else. However, if you're already fluent in a language and trying to learn a new one, things could get too confusing or take too much time.

    I agree with you!

  7. It is a one of the many native languages of the Philippines, JasleenKaur, specifically in Zamboanga City, often referred to as Asia's Latin City because of its Spanish and Latin inspired taste of things in the Southern part of the Philippines in the island of Mindanao.. Chavacano as a language is a mix of Spanish, Filipino, Latin and Visayan which makes it unique and pleasant to the ears.

    Thank you.

  8. Yes writing is a very important tool when learning a new and different language apart from ones own. This is because writing new words or phrases will help you recall the things dictated to you as something to always remember and apply later on. With writing, you can organize and structure the learnings you will be getting to form part of how you will apply the language in the oral sense of using it.

I agree with your comment. Writing is much important if we are learning new language. It is really helpful for pronunciation.
