Hi guys

I'm Sara and I'm from Iran. I teach English to kids in basic levels. I'm looking for someone to speak English with them and improve my language and also speak more and more fluently.

Thanks and hope to make connection with each of you...

Hi Sara, welcome to the forum!

It's great that you're teaching English to kids—helping young learners build a strong foundation is so important. If you're looking to improve fluency, practicing conversations on everyday topics like travel, hobbies, and daily routines can be really helpful. You could also explore storytelling with your students to make learning more engaging.

Have you tried using online language exchange platforms to connect with English speakers? It might be a great way for both you and your students to practice more naturally.

Looking forward to hearing more about your teaching experience! 😊

Hi everyone, I love the idea of picking random subjects to discuss—it’s a great way to practice language skills and learn new vocabulary! I’ll go with two topics: travel and cooking. For travel, I enjoy exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations, like small coastal towns in Portugal. It’s amazing how much you can learn about a culture through its local markets and festivals. When it comes to cooking, I’m passionate about trying recipes from different cuisines, like making homemade sushi or perfecting a spicy Thai curry. Practicing language through these topics is fun, and I’ve found tools like Parakeet really helpful for picking up new phrases while reading about travel or food in my target language. It’s a cool platform for immersive learning with authentic content. What subjects are you all choosing, and how do you tie them into your language practice?

Learning new languages can be such a rewarding challenge, but sometimes tech glitches or questions about lessons pop up, and that’s where good support really matters. I’ve seen a lot of users share their experiences with one source which gave me a better sense of how helpful they are when you need a hand. If you ever hit a snag, the duolingo customer support is pretty easy to reach and usually responsive. It’s nice to know there’s backup when you’re trying to stay consistent with your language goals—makes the whole learning process a lot smoother!
