Strange script to identify & translate

During a project to transcribe memorial inscriptions in a local graveyard, we have found a stone with a strange script which we would like to identifyu and translate.

A copy of the inscription can be seen on the Society web site at:

Help will be appreciated in identifying the script and if possible the translation.

Wow! This is a true mystery! I just finished looking at your link and this has to be the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. I don't know what language the message is written in, but it looks strangely familiar. It looks like writing I saw a few years back in a Discovery Channel Special, I think it was about the Celts but I'm not sure. Maybe if you reach out to Discovery they could help you out. Thaks for your comments. It would appear that the laguage is an invented welsh language. A fuller answer is on the Society web page:

A full translation will be provided in a future issue of the Scoiety Journal, prbably Jan 2016.

Wow, very interesting. While I don't know what language that was, I sure appreciate that because of this thread, I've learned a new thing: Futhark. It was a very interesting read.
