Nicolay Shinkin Posted February 11, 2017 Report Posted February 11, 2017 Which decomposition option of the Chinese character 天 tiān ‘sky’ is correct? 1. 二 èr two, 人 rén man 2. 一 yī one, 大 dà big 3. 一 yī one, 大 dà big, 一 yī one, 人 rén man 4. 一 yī one, 一 yī one, 大 dà big, 一 yī one, 人 rén man 5. All options are correct Quote
宇崎ちゃん Posted February 11, 2017 Report Posted February 11, 2017 In terms of radicals, all options are correct. Radicals only serve for you to easily remember the characters really. For example: 二+人=天。 → "There are two people high in the sky". 一+大=天。 → "There is only one sky, and it's big". And so on. Quote

What can you say about Option 4? Quote
宇崎ちゃん Posted February 11, 2017 Report Posted February 11, 2017 Option 4 is too much radicals actually. You can use radicals as building blocks, you can't merge them. Quote

When we analyze the Chinese character 天 tiān ‘sky’ we can't do without 二 èr 'two'. Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me, friend! Quote
