      Zuhause or Zu Hause?

I found the Deutschretter channel and am wondering why the guy said "zu Hause" instead of "Zuhause".

I am sure my teacher said "das Zuhause".

Can somebody explain the difference between both?

(I dont care about the nach Hause...)

      Because "zu" means "to".
In English, you would say "to the house" instead of "tothehouse" for example. ;)

Actually "zu Hause" and "Zuhause "are both possible word forms. It depends on the grammatical function of the word. Have a look here to understand better:

If you don't understand the reasoning, I can explain you :=)
