Hello everybody. I decided to create this thread so you can post your questions about Portuguese language, which I'll be more than pleased to answer to. I've seen we're at least two Portugueses here, me and Caparica, so you'll surely have a good and correct answer.

Grammar is important, in my opinion, because it makes your text look alot better. If you write a full text with plenty of grammar mistakes, it'll look terrible and sometimes people will underestimate you for that. It's important for me to write correctly, or at least the best I can in every situations no matter what.

I started learning french about 1 year ago, when I fixed myself at France. From there on, I try to learn the more I can online, practise whenever I go to a supermarket and such places. It's not hard, but I tend to forget what I want to say whenever I need to say it, no matter how good I know it.

It is a very good tool and probably one of the best translators, though you have to know exactly what to imput and what sense you give your sentences. I use it mainly to translate single words or make sure I'm spelling them correctly, as for big texts, it usually has got alot of failures.

I'm giving Germany a start for a very simple reason. My father's living at Gremany so whenever I wish to visit him I'll have to speak the language doing the travel and while I'm in there. It's also a very useful language when it comes to getting a job. You have alot more chances if you can speak germany.

I've never realized that, and in-fact since "na" means at/in, "namorada"(girlfriend) could be mixed with in/at the adress(morada). I'm not capable of finding such words just by thinking at that though, maybe because it sounds normal to me.

I, as a Portuguese person who often speaks and have contact with brazilian people can tell you that there are alot of differences even though there isn't technically a Brazilian Portuguese. Portuguese is Portuguese and what they have is some kind of dialect. Portuguese people could understand brazilians better than they do understand Portuguese though, probably because our accent seems weird to them. Meanwhile, we're used to their accent when speaking our language.
