  1. I think German sounds pretty sexy, honestly. It's a very hard language for me to personally learn, though. I tried once about 7 years ago, and gave up as soon as the words started joining together to form bigger and bigger words.. and they all seemed to become giant centipede sentences.
  2. You probably had an easier time with Italian because you were immersed in the culture. It's much easier to pick up a language when you're surrounded by people who speak it constantly. I always had trouble learning a language in a classroom.
  3. The hardest part for me is the memorization. I just have to put word lists down on flash cards and go over and over them until I remember. It's frustrating and tedious, but I cannot think of another way to do it.
  4. I'm a visual learner, and I tend to let my senses cross. (making visual associations with sounds) So I will take a word, like blanco, and imagine a white donkey. I don't know why the first thing I see when I hear the word blanco is donkey.. maybe I'm associating it with "bronco" or something. Anyway, that's what I do. It makes it easier. I take the sounds of the words I'm learning and assign them the proper visuals I need in order to remember them.
  5. I'd like to learn to speak Spanish because I'm living in the Spanish section of town in Brooklyn. It really feels different being on the other side of the situation; I'm the odd one out this time. I'm starting to understand how isolated and confused people who don't speak English may feel when they first try to settle into a place that seems so foreign.
  6. I honestly tried to avoid it as long as possible. Then my mother started using it in texts to me. So I just gave up, and decided it was more fun to play around with than to get mad about. So yes, I do use it often.
