I would really like to learn French. I am amused by the accent and intonation that French people exude or portray. I have watched movies like Ratatouie, The Eye, and others which made me realize that the French language is a very interesting one.

ESL or English as a Secondary Language here in the Philippines is not a course but rather an examination. We have TESL or Teaching English as a Secondary Language. These are requirements for non-native speakers of English like countries outside the US or UK.

No. I actually pity people who are hard up in speaking English instead of judging them. Judgmental people get nowhere in life, just full of bickering and hatred. I have heard a lot of people with accents not only foreigners but even my fellow Filipinos who come from provinces and far flung areas where English is not taught properly.

My name is Frederick and I currently reside here in the Philippines. As a Filipino, I grew up knowing a lot of languages like English and our native languages which are Filipino, Ilocano and Ifontok. What's nice about being a Filipino is that you are immediately exposed to different languages making you multi-lingual instantly. Anyway, I hope to learn new languages in this forum including French as I've always wanted to speak French.
How important is correct grammar to you?

Grammar is pretty important for English speakers. For those learning new languages, grammar can sometimes be easy to learn or can be difficult depending on the language you are trying to learn. Anyway, before learning grammar, you should first learn how to construct sentences with the language you are trying to learn. You will learn to improve your grammar eventually when you can already understand the language.
