I think paper books will be around forever, at least I'm hoping. Nothing compares to reading a paper back book.

I'm a young adult, a college student, and I HATE the fact that these slang terms are being added to the dictionary. Someday when I have children and they are using a dictionary I would prefer they learn real words with real meaning rather than these slang terms.

I mean I don't think it could hurt. I think it would also be good to communicate with English speakers to keep your skills sharp!

My personal favorite is "simplify, simplify, simplify" by Thoreau. I love transcendentalism.

I'm more comfortable being in bed, but i find that I'm more focused and that I learn better when I am in the library.

These really all vary by person as others have said. Except, with the last question, I think if you have dedication and the drive to succeed at becoming fluent in a language then you don't necessarily have to live in that country to do so.

I've had brief phone calls in Spanish and they were quite the struggle but it definitely helped me to learn better. I always encourage my cousins, who can speak Spanish fluently, to speak with me in Spanish so that I can improve my skills.

I definitely agree with you! However, if an immersion program is available then I think something like that is always the most helpful. I went to a Spanish immersion day once and I learned more there than I did in a week of classes.

using google translate can get you in a whole bunch of trouble. my friend one time wanted to write a nice message to one of our Spanish foreign exchange students, "You are hot". The translator used a different kind of "hot" implying something other than her just being attractive. It was a mess.

I think ages 3-5 are good starting points. I know in my old school they start having spanish class in pre-k! I wish I would have started in pre-k!

ABSOLUTELY. when I was in high school we had Spanish 1, 2, 3, and 4 but kids never took it seriously, except for a few of us. So each year we would have to completely relearn EVERYTHING and I felt like I was never progressing until I took Spanish 4, and had a Spanish class of 5 kids who were genuinely interested in the language.

This is probably one of the best ideas ever. Can't wait to utilize this opportunity!

I definitely agree. One of the reasons why I keep wanting to learn more Spanish is because I love immersing myself in the language and culture. When I learn a new word or phrase I get so excited and when I learn about the culture/story behind that word or phrase I get even more excited!

yes! happens all the time. I always want to join into the conversation or ask for pointers but I always get too embarrassed to do so.
