I have so many from To Kill A Mockingbird but I'll leave you with this one. “The one thing that doesn't abide by majority rule is a person's conscience.”

Paper back novels are they being lost to ebooks?
languagelearner replied to NATASHA's topic in English Literature
I think paper books will be around forever, at least I'm hoping. Nothing compares to reading a paper back book. -
I mean I don't think it could hurt. I think it would also be good to communicate with English speakers to keep your skills sharp!

I'm more comfortable being in bed, but i find that I'm more focused and that I learn better when I am in the library.

These really all vary by person as others have said. Except, with the last question, I think if you have dedication and the drive to succeed at becoming fluent in a language then you don't necessarily have to live in that country to do so.

I definitely agree with you! However, if an immersion program is available then I think something like that is always the most helpful. I went to a Spanish immersion day once and I learned more there than I did in a week of classes.

Best age to start learning a new language?
languagelearner replied to lushlala's topic in Language Learning
I think ages 3-5 are good starting points. I know in my old school they start having spanish class in pre-k! I wish I would have started in pre-k! -
ABSOLUTELY. when I was in high school we had Spanish 1, 2, 3, and 4 but kids never took it seriously, except for a few of us. So each year we would have to completely relearn EVERYTHING and I felt like I was never progressing until I took Spanish 4, and had a Spanish class of 5 kids who were genuinely interested in the language.

This sounds super interesting. Unfortunately, I have a mac so I don't know that I could be of much help, I hope you find all the help you're looking for though!

Hey, all. My name is Lilly and I'm a current college student. English is my mother language and I'm currently trying to become more fluent in Spanish but I have not taken a Spanish course since high school so not only am I trying to grow in my Spanish speaking skills but I also am trying to remember everything I already learned.

Are you ever emberassed about this?
languagelearner replied to OddVisions's topic in Language Learning
yes! happens all the time. I always want to join into the conversation or ask for pointers but I always get too embarrassed to do so.
