I forgot to mention about the budget. A classroom training for learning a new language would cost you more than learning on your own online or reading a book self-phased. If you have the money to spend then I think a traditional classroom offline will benefit you. Sometimes we can not guarantee that we will be able to keep out focus once we do it on our own at home/online. For me having to go to a school makes the experience more believable

Why not look for a forum with Spanish speakers on it or maybe look for a chatroom where the members are all native speakers. It would be easier to find a buddy that way.

It does not make sense to me that I can speak but not write. I should be fluent both in oral and written. Writing makes the learning more motivating and you can appreciate the language more as the rules of grammar and punctuation are being applied whereas when you speak you do not get to appreciate all of those.

I think that is a good way to learn a new language which is to start early. Good for you it was part of your elementary curriculum to learn French. In my country English is the counterpart of your French at an early age. Previous generations in my country were taught Spanish in college but during my time that was no longer being implemented too bad.

It depends on your learning style. If you think a classroom setting with a live teacher is effective for you then go for it. If you are the type who can learn quickly on your own phase and does not need outside resource or motivation then you are better off going online.

I was trying to learn Spanish I have no idea that it is too complicated for me. I go crazy learning about the conjugations and stopped. Now I switched to learning French because somehow it is quite similar to Spanish because the words have genders too. My problem now with this new language is the difficulty in pronouncing the French way.

Whatever language we use on daily basis will make us more accustomed to use it even if it is not our native language. Sometimes we become more fluent with the foreign language and may have to refresh our knowledge on the use of our own native tongue. I find it quite easier to speak a foreign language than to write it. I can correct myself right away in case I made a mistake. Whereas when writing you have to be sure your spelling and use of special characters are correct plus you have to follow the rules of grammar. When you speak these are not evident most of the time. I am also using duolingo but because this is self phased I tend to slack and forget about the lessons. I am trying to learn French and Spanish. I gave up on Spanish because I am getting nuts about the conjugations.

French is difficult to pronounce and I find Nihongo to be full of emotions when they speak it. Written French is easier compare with the Japanese characters. I think you should go for French and I believe this language is quite similar to Spanish in some respect

It is possible to learn a few languages all at the same time. I wonder though if you can manage to remember everything you learned especially if you do not use all of these languages everyday. Even in our own native language we are sometimes lost for words what more if you use five foreign languages

How I wish that my parents exposed me to learn a new language at early age because right now it is such a struggle for me. I often lose my motivation every time I forget a certain term or language rule. Maybe if I were taught earlier I could have learned easier.

You use Basta to mark finality in your decision or statement. If it had been said with a basta then no one can do anything about it. That word does not translate in English as far as I am aware.

It sounds very strange to me. The guy talks in a monotonous way making it quite difficult for me to figure out and make a good guess. Is that Russian? I think that is not French although I can hear some enunciations similar to it. Sorry I could not tell what language it is.

Is learning the language for mere appreciation only or are there other uses to it if you are not going to live in Rome? I think it is a very interesting new language to learn but let us admit it not everyone here finds it easy to learn a second language.

I am using a mobile app called Duolingo. I find it practical and useful. The lessons are presented in a well structured manner. What I love about is everything has been laid out for me no more guessing whether I am taking a complete lesson or not.

Is it necessary? I find some of the terms quite long and hard to remember. I think this will make it hard to speak in Tagalog. Why not use them as they are ? Pook sapot is trying too hard come on give it a break. I do not use the term website anymore I just say site to make it brief. I am laughing out loud now imagining myself asking someone for their pook sapot I can only imagine the reaction of people who will hear me say that.

What is an idiom in Tagalog? Gosh I think I had forgotten the right term. Some of the idioms that I still hear are : Isang kahig isang tuka mahirap pa ako sa daga mababa ang lipad kapit sa patalim I heard one new phrase from a friend lately and it is Pecha de peligro I find it funny and interesting not sure if this is just an informal thing or used colloquially

I saw one video that translated cheers in Tagalog as pagpupunyagi. Is that the right term for it? Is there a better translation for pagpupunyagi this word is kind of odd to me because I do not use it

I think pinoys are not strict when it comes to following Tagalog grammar rules. It does not matter if you spell the word incorrectly. Kila sounds cute and it is easier to pronounce than Kina. Tiga is a term used in other dialects so non-tagalog natives might have confused it with taga. I am surprised that pa lang is treated as one word by other people because I am not into that habit.

If you are talking to a true blue pinoy I think it would be better if you try to be casual about it. Use terms that they use every day like gusto or bet instead of the formal ones. Say gusto kita or bet kita. I think they would appreciate it more if you did not have to use textbook terms.

Which is the right form to use for Kaka? Kakalinis or Kalilinis Kakaligo or Kaliligo and so on I thought these two forms can be used interchangeably with no worries. Does it depend again on which region or island you are from? Any thought guys?

I do not see the connection of Boom and Panis. It does not mean anything to me. I have friends from social network sites who are very fond of using Boom but not Panis then later on this comedian fused these two words together thinking that it is cool. I never used this term anyway it is just a fad that slowly died down.
