How often do you check your dictionary?

I check my dictionary everyday! I have dictionary on my mobile phone. Whenever I need it, it is always there. For example, when I'm reading books or novels, and unfamiliar words appear, it's my habit to look on dictionary. Even when I'm talking with somebody else, I always look on my dictionary then take down notes all things that I've learned.

I only check the dictionary (the online one that is) when I come across a word I don't know. The great thing about internet dictionaries is they also have the pronunciation for you to listen to. So if you don't know how to pronounce a word, just look it up online and they'll pronounce it for you

I used to make a mental note of words I didn't know. The problem is that by the time I'm home, I've forgotten all about those words. So the dictionary wasn't used much. It's a good thing there are dictionary apps on the phone now and I use those often.  :wacky:

When I read, which I do very often, I come across words that I don't understand. So, thanks to the mobile dictionary app, I am able to check the meaning of those words and they don't have to bother me all day until I go home.

I don't really open dictionaries when I see uncommon words. I use it in context and in a way I "get" what they mean, but if I really can't get it then that's the time that I bust out a dictionary and look it up. This happens pretty rarely though.

I rarely use a dictionary for the definition of words. If I cannot guess at the meaning of the word by the context it has been used within the sentence, I go online to check the meaning of the word. However I still use a "thesaurus" on a regular basis.

When I read something from the early 20th century (or any different time period, really), I find myself having to constantly look up words in the dictionary. I probably look at it once every 5 pages, on average.

I very rarely have to use a dictionary to look up words, but it happens. Maybe once every second day or something (note: I write a LOT of english every day, so this is really not much in contrast to how much english I'm writing/reading/Listening to). It's usually happens when I don't know the spelling of something, when there is a word I don't understand I can usually get the meaning of it from the context (or atleast, understand the overall meaning without knowing the individual word). But of course, I sometimes have to look up the definition of words too.

I check my dictionary as often as I need to, frequently when I am reading a technical material in which words are not easy to understand based on context clues alone. I also check my dictionary when I am expanding my vocabulary. I look at it, scan through it to find a word I think I would be able to use a lot.

Since I'm blogging I still actually check some words on online dictionary. I always want to make sure that I'm using the correct word on certain sentences.

I'm also sometimes forgetful and there are words that I know but I can't remember so there I'm back to the dictionary again.
