  1. I've been super addicted to the Japanese and French versions lately Japanese: French:
  2. This is an interesting concept, but does that mean we have to use apps to study? How about websites or textbooks? How will that work?
  3. My tip for ALL Japanese learners -- SPEAK THE LANGUAGE. This is a problem I'm suffering from right now. My writing, reading, and understanding skills are decent, but I speak very broken Japanese. Now that I'm taking higher level classes, I have to speak a lot of Japanese and I'm struggling a lot. So for those who are learning Japanese right now, I highly recommend focusing on your speaking skills. If you can't write, read, or understand you can always practice by yourself and you'll eventually get it down. But you can't practice speaking to yourself. You have to practice with someone else. So take every opportunity to practice speaking Japanese.
  4. If you have a smartphone, you might want to try the pleco app. You don't even need to have wifi to use it so it might come in handy.
  5. That's cute! I'm going to be teaching English in Japan soon so maybe this will come in handy
  6. This is indeed a very nice song. I've actually been addicted to the Japanese version recently But it's not one singer singing in all these languages. It's 25 different singers singing this song, lol.
  7. In my Japanese class, we use this to write our Japanese compositions. Everytime I use it, I am reminded of how much I hate using it XD One time I forgot to skip a line and I had to write the whole thing over again just to skip that line. You have to be very, very careful when you use this
  8. Thanks for sharing the site! It's very helpful ^__^ I used this dictionary to help write my Japanese paper earlier this week
  9. I've never heard of "牢騷炸", but "發牢騷" is a Cantonese slang and it means to whine or to complain. It's commonly used to describe women who often have big (negative) reactions to small things. For example, a woman who starts an argument after finding out her husband often texts other people would be described as "發牢騷" because she is complaining and making a fuss for no reason. Where did you hear "我用牢騷炸"? Because "牢騷" is rarely used to describe ourselves so the subject is rarely "我". I often hear it being used like this "她又開始向我發牢騷了" in TV dramas.
  10. Amazon Japan doesn't ship to USA so if I buy from them I will have to use a re-shipping service that will most likely cost more than the actual book itself
  11. Are you looking for talk shows or music? It's not live, but maybe you can try Japanaradio. It's a music station though so it's just playing Jpop continuously.
  12. If you click on the cover on Amazon, you can actually preview a part of the book to see if you're interested in it before buying. There are 8 writings in this book and each writing is only a couple pages long. The right handed side has the Japanese text and the left handed has the line-by-line English translation. A glossary and a CD (if you want to actually hear someone reading it to you) is provided. I think this book is geared towards Japanese learners. Or at least that's how I'm using it. It takes me a while to read and understand a page because I actually break down each sentence and try to understand the vocab and grammar. It's like a Japanese reader to me.
  13. Do you know where to get the Japanese version?
  14. I have purchased Read Real Japanese Essays: Contemporary Writings by Popular Authors . It's not a novel... it's just a bunch of short writings put together. But it has both English & Japanese translation which is very helpful for intermediate Japanese learners who are just starting to read Japanese text. I haven't read the whole book yet but from what I've read, it's a good book. I will be purchasing the stories version of this book too.
  15. 釣り (tsuri, fishing) ^どこに行きますか。
  16. 今 (ima, right now) 今は午前二時半です。
  17. 悩む (nayamu, to worry) 明日テストがあるから、今悩んでいます。
  18. 気になる (kininaru, ~to be concerned about) 成績が気になります。
  19. 試験はよかったです。私はクラスの中に一番高い点をいただきました。(o^-')b
  20. ルームメイト (ruumumeito, roommate) 「る」は難しいなあ ルームメイトの名前はジャスミンです。
