I can write in Urdu and English very well, though I can also write in Arabic, because it is similar in writing to Urdu, but I don't know much of the language so I wouldn't. I could also try to write in Punjabi which is also very similar to Urdu in writing, but I have not written it ever. I can also speak Hindi but I don't know how to write it.

I would probably go if I'm abroad, it is a cool atmosphere when learning a new language with a bunch of other people. Probably I'd learn French or Spanish.

I do agree with that, British Accents is the most sophisticated among all the English speakers, but I'd say Urdu is one of the most sophisticated language of all, its the language of Royals of the Sub-Continent and though it has a mixture of Arabic, Persian and many other languages, when it comes to speaking and writing of pure Urdu, it is very classy and has a feeling of royalty to it.

What Language is Most Valuable to Learn
shamzblueworld replied to DancingLady's topic in Language Learning
I think after English it would be Arabic for me, because it will help me understand the Holy Quran better. English is universal, so that could be important for everyone but after that, it just depends on the person and where he is. -

I've not actually heard of this before, but can you elaborate it with some examples so we can understand what you mean? -
Reading books in the original language
shamzblueworld replied to Peninha's topic in Language Learning
I also like to read the books in their original language and form, but if I don't understand the language, then I have to get some help from its translations, but I don't trust much in all the translations, I check many to make sure whats the correct version. -
I think when the migrations happen, people travel from one place to another and in time they add new stuff to their language and hence new language emerges.
-
I also think its best to learn one new language at a time, it will be very difficult to concentrate on two equally and hence you won't apprehend either in best to your ability.

Thanks for sharing Trellum, it does like quite handy and I might bookmark it now.

I've seen it a lot in the kids, they read out loud to memorize especially, and I think it does help. I know that kids that memorize the Holy Quran by heart, read out loud again and again the verses to memorize it and it does help and that is the way it is done all over the world. So there must be some logic in it.

How do you improve your grammar?
shamzblueworld replied to TheStoryteller1's topic in English Grammar
Skywatcher explained it pretty well and yes, reading a lot is the most essential, only after reading a lot, you can write better and writing is the best practice, so you can get some good English books and it'll keep on improving with time. -
Has Anyone Use This School?
shamzblueworld replied to thebesttimsanders's topic in Language Learning
I have not used it but just checking out the site, it's quite costly I think, about $30/month the subscription charges which is a lot, you can search for some free online resources too, there are many available on the web. -
I have met a couple of mute and deaf people in my life and I was able to communicate well with them, I have not tried to learn the sign language nor I think they knew it any bit, but I think here in our part of the world, more than learning, they just make up and try to convey their message.

What do you think of this new language learning tool?
shamzblueworld replied to sophieg's topic in Language Learning
That sounds nice and the site looks good too, I might give it a try soon. You have video material too? How many languages' material you got so far? -
I can learn anywhere, in solitude or in a call of many, doesn't bother me much because I concentrate well to the point and pivot my focus on it for as long as it interests me.

I'm a good reader, I understand well and read quickly as well. But when some word comes across that I have no idea, and can't even get the meaning or an idea from the phrase, then I have to check the dictionary for it and nowadays online and even the offline PC or phone dictionaries are just so handy.

Do you think online tutorials are effective?
shamzblueworld replied to Judhie's topic in English Language | Discussion
Yes I agree, online tuts and free classes are very helping in addition to one's cause, but still you need real tutoring and real life practice to learn the language completely. But if you are learning, then online help is quite useful.
