  1. Now with modern browsers you can easily translate the website in your preferred language, so thats an excellent tool that can help you out in such situations.
  2. Nowadays with internet and all the applications on your mobile or tablet, you dont need to carry the hardcopy dictionary but it is helpful to have the app or prgram installed in your gadget.
  3. I dont think that every native person is going to speak their language in excellency, because one does require to learn grammer and history so the most important part would be education, if a person is well educated, he will speak the language better than the person who is speaking the language for more years but is not properly educated about it.
  4. That does sound a bit creepy if you are abroad, but in your native country to speak your native language, it isnt much of a task, and also if you are to speak in a language that is quite commonly spoken in your area, it wont be much of a tough task either, it only gets tough when you are learning a new language and there are not much people who know that language, then its really hard to find one and have conversations with.
  5. Glad that you are going with IPB, its really a great forum software. You need to customize the theme a bit, and also add some content, its quite empty for now. I may join it later.
  6. They are unique that has to be said, but sometimes seem too big or long, but a very nice addition and look good most of the times.
  7. I agree with you in one point that they do not justify the "test/exam" and learning, but in this new time saving world, I think they are the only option now, and to an extent the MCQs can be made harder than the full writing questions because one has to be exact with their answer when it comes to a MCQ but when you're writing a couple or more sentences then you can get away with that.
  8. Yes I think the easy and simple and probably only way to do this is by using these words again and again, try to think of making sentences with these words, try putting them in situations and also use them in your writings and conversations. The more you use them, they'll just be placed permanently in your brain and you won't have to remember them.
  9. It depends on the country you're living and the people you're going to interact with in business or in other aspects of life. For example, China, Japan, Korea etc give no importance to English at all, but there business is doing better than the English countries itself and there are well reknowned and very powerfull businessmen without any know how of English language, but if you're in a country where English is the major language in business and/or in general then of course it is important. So it is all about where you're at and what you're going to do and with whom.

  11. I started learning English when I was in 6th grade, that was the first foreign language I started learning. Though I already knew Urdu and Punjabi.
  12. I dont think so, but it may depend upon the listening, but no one has every told me that I do so I think I dont.
  13. Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, they're all the same to me but I know for a fact that if you mistook one for another, they sure not like it.

  16. I think writing is the most difficult part, as you have to be very good at grammer if not perfect to write any good. When speaking, you can get away with that and reading is easy too.
  17. That is a very good addition, I have posted there and I'm looking for a buddy to improve on my foreign language. Thank you for this new forum.
  18. My English professor in academy said that he finds the best way to learn more vocabulary of a foriegn language is through translation, try translating a piece of writing of your native language to the foreign language and vice versa, this is the best way according to him. And I also kind of agree with him on it, it is quite a useful practice to do.
  19. O yes! Its right at the bottom, I did not see this before. Sorry about that then, thank you very much for clearing that out. And yes I really like this theme, awesome work by the designer.
  20. Thank you for the welcome Aishe. Urdu is a lot similar to Arabic, especially in script, its almost the same. But pronunciation and grammer is different. As Urdu is derived from a lot of languages, one could see a lot in common with Arabic in it too.
  21. I think if an acronym is known worldwide then you dont need to put the dots as no one will misunderstood it, but if there is an acronym that is not so popular then the best practice is to place the dots so the readers understands at first glance that its an acronym.
  22. I am fluent in English speaking but need improvement in grammer and want to enhance my vocabulary so I am looking for an advance level expert of English language to mentor me. So please if you can help out, contact me and I'll be very glad and thankful. Thank you
  23. Hello there, first I really like the theme, its very neat, clean and elegant. Really good work by the admins. But I would like to suggest the feature of quick reply box in the forums, as now one has to click reply and then post the reply, it would save some time and also load faster if you have the quick reply box below the forum, I dont know what plugin is used for this as I am not familiar with SMF yet but this is a very useful and very recommended feature for forums so you should include this too. Thank you
