  1. That's a really interesting question. I would have to say that I think in English even though I may be speaking in French or Arabic. Not sure why this is the case, but I think it has to do with the fact that thinking comes at a fast paste, thus when you think you tend to use the language that you are the most fluent in.
  2. I completely agree with this! I often find myself in this situation.

I personally feel like they don't really help you learn a language because for the majority of the time you are just reading what is written on the screen and not really focusing on the actual words being said in the language you want to learn. This is why it's really good to watch cartoons or shows for kids because you can sort of learn a lot more from them.
  4. I think I tend to over uses the term "LOL" but not really during a conversation. For example if they post on my wall a funny meme or picture, then I would be more inclined to say LOL.
  5. I started learning my second language at the same time that I learnt my first. My father and mother both spoke Arabic but my mother was also fluent in English so she made sure that I learnt the language too.
  6. For me, my mother tongue should have been Arabic. But after moving to New Zealand I became more comfortable in speaking English. So English became my first language and Arabic my second. To this day I find it much easier to speak in English than in Arabic.
  7. Apparently after asking the parentals, my first word was aeroplane. We lived next to the airport so I guess that makes sense as to why it was my first word.
  8. I tend to speak using simple vocabulary as it's more likely that people will understand what you are trying to say rather that using big complicated words that no one really knows the meaning of.
  9. I always though the word "Burglar" sounded a little strange and slightly hard to say.
  10. I think they can be helpful to some extent. This is dependent on the tutor themselves and if they really know what they are talking about and are good at explaining new concepts to their students. I myself have had both good and bad experiences with online tutorials.

  13. I have always wanted to try sign language. I think it would be really cool to communicate with someone else in sign language without worrying about pronunciation problems etc. I think it would also be handy in situations in which you don't want others to know what it is that you are saying.
  14. I think you should try Spanish out. Spanish is a fun language to learn and is a lot easier than other languages such as French and German especially if you have studied both languages previously.
  15. I think the best way to learn vocabulary is by picking a few words that you want to learn and then integrating these words into your every day speech. That way you remember what the word is, its meaning and how to use it in a sentence.
