Difference between speaking and writing a language
jamesbonner replied to cpefley's topic in Language Teaching
well it's the same in all the languages, writing isn't like speaking, because in writing you have a lot of time to think about what you are going to write without needing to think about if you say it in the correct way or not, but when you are speaking there is no enough time to think and say it in the good prononciation, that's that hardest part ! -
The main purpose of learning French
jamesbonner replied to FlagOnce's topic in French Language | Discussion
Well Actually I've learnt French in the school, so I didn't really choose it, but once you learn it you'll discover that it's really a romantical language, you can use it to express your feelings lol, also if you start listening to french music, you'll like it ! it's true it's not a really famous language, but it still good to learn an Academycal language like French ! -
Well Actually I don't know anyone that speak italian, but I'll give you a trick that I used to do when I start learning French, go to skype and search people basing on Italy country or Italian names, once you get accepted you get a native italian speaker who you can practice with

Using google translator.
jamesbonner replied to Lingua Franca's topic in Translations (Theory & Practice)
for now I don't really think that google translate is doing good at translating the text with 100% success rates, I tested it many time and it didn't do really good because sometimes there is words that have many meanings, and it translate it to the wrong meaning so text wouldn't be perfect at the end ... -
The correct verb tenses with the word "didn't"
jamesbonner replied to clau21's topic in English Language | Discussion
Well, the rule is too easy my friend, if you use did or didn't you always follow it with the verb at present, that the rule, for example : I did eat/ I didn't eat, it's the same, and we use did + verb at present to avoid using the past tense of the verb, but it's the same good luck bro -
Do you prefer British English or American?
jamesbonner replied to VNtomboy's topic in English Language | Discussion
I really prefer british English, I been studying some technical lessons here and the teacher was from United Kindom, I really liked the way he spell words, I just see it like the classical English ! -
Weaknesses of your current target language?
jamesbonner replied to FlagOnce's topic in Language Learning
Actually I have two target languages for now, the first is English and the second is French, I'm good with them but my only problem is the pronunciation, this problem because I don't speak with them a lot, I just use them to write, that's why I never success in talking those two languages without problems -
it looks like very old movie, what is the story of this movie ? please let me know so if I like it I would like to watch it

Hi Bro, I'm Mouad, 22 years old and I'm an Arabic native speaker, I can talk English and French too so if you need any help in those 3 languages just let me know
-
well it all depends on what you are going to do offline, if you are going to practice the language with native speakers then offline is much better, if not then online is okey if you practice in some forums with with native speaker friends
-
The best thing in my country, is you start learning french in your 3rd year at school, after that you start learning english in the 6th year, so we learn them both and I really like that because it helped to have 2 extra languages in my life
-
I never tried it, but I will definitely do it, I would pay anyone to teach me any foreign language if i'm in need to, but only if the costs aren't so expensive, so yeah i'm with the idea but I never tried it before.
-
I would never pay any penny to learn a new language, because the time of learning a new language isn't fixed and we can never know how much it would take, so if you buy monthly subscriptions it will cost you a lot !
-
Well, I suggest that you start learning the main words first, after that you can try to read german forums, watch their movies with translation, and even try to make some friendships with the native speakers ! in that way you'll learn more words and how to use them good luck

11 weeks of holiday or 11 weeks of holidays
jamesbonner replied to Mark Skype Teacher's topic in English Grammar
I think it should be 11 week of holidays, because 11 week is just the number and holidays is the main word, anyways this is not really a big deal and as our friend said in his reply that no one will notice or cares lol -
Well I speak French and I can say it's really good language (the most romantic language lol) but it's one of the less used languages so learning it will be useless ! that's why I think Japanese may be better ! but in the end just follow your heart

Hi Marie, welcome here with us I'm Mouad, 22 years old from Algeria (it's someone in north africa) I hope you'll enjoy being here with us and if you need any help with French or Arabic just let me know
-
I never heard about that website before since I'm an Arabic native speaker, but from what you've said it looks like really good way to learn Arabic !
-
we all have this problem, writing any language is more easier because you have all the time to think about what you are going to write, also you can see what you wrote before so you can finish your sentence easily, but when you speak you have to think and speak in the same time that what makes it harder !

I'll try to explain the "Vous" and "Tu" for you guys, In English we say "you" for the person or the persons we are talking with, it doesn't matter if it's one or more than one, in French, if you are talking with a single person you say "tu", more than one you say "vous", that's the simple rule. now there is a difference also in other uses, for example in formal discussion, when you talk with someone older, or someone you respect or you don't know, you have to say "vous" to be more polite, but when you talk with someone else you really know you can say simply too there is another difference in "la conjugaison", it's not like English , you for plural or one we don't anything to the verb in the end, but in French, for tu we add just "e" and for vous we add "ez" (that's in the present tense) if you have any other question just let me know

Why did you start learning languages?
jamesbonner replied to turtledove's topic in Language Learning
Well I didn't choose to learn languages lol, because it was in the school program (French & English) that's how I've learnt both, but for now, I'm in love with the Italian language, and I'm trying to learn it just because I like the way they talk ! -
English practice
jamesbonner replied to caparica007's topic in English Lounge - Conversations in English only
Hi Mike, thank you for your help in advance, I'm Mouad 22 yo from Constantine, Algeria, so Please can you tell me more about Baltimore, since I've heard a lot of "bad" thing about it, I've heard that you have a lot of mafia there, is that true ? -
That's really good method to remember translated worlds, but I've my own method which works a lot, each time I learn a new work I make a relation between it and another word in my native language, like that once I search for the word I can find it easily !
