RobynB Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 I have recently found that there are many ways and means to learn Italian, whether it is through books, tapes/CD's, computer programs or even apps on your smart phone. I believe either way is great, I suppose it just depends on the person who is learning. Quote
alisawnn Posted March 9, 2014 Report Posted March 9, 2014 Have you heard of Duolinguo? I've been using it to review Italian, and I've started learning French on it, and I think it's one of the better language learning apps out there! Quote
linguaholic Posted March 10, 2014 Report Posted March 10, 2014 If you are indeed interested in Duolingo, you might want to have a look here:http://linguaholic.com/spanish-links/duolingo-com-vs-spanishdict-com/http://linguaholic.com/german-links/duolingo-2320/http://linguaholic.com/spanish-study-apps/anybody-use-duolingoregardslingua Quote
RobynB Posted March 11, 2014 Author Report Posted March 11, 2014 Wow and thanks, will check that out. Seems like a good app to learn many a language. Quote
evergreen Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 I'm taking college level Italian as a degree requirement. Although there is no app for the class, I found that I remembered vocabulary better through Duolingo. I also tried Rosetta Stone (the free phone app) but I got bored really easily, and questioned sometimes what they were showing me. I'm always on the lookout for new apps though. Quote
Robin_Hood Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 iTranslate on iPhone/iPad is a pretty good translator... not completely flawless of course. It will also translate complete sentences. I like to use it! Quote
reverserewind Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 Audiobooks are a cool thing of the present. I use them a lot. It's very convenient. There are a lot of great books written and narrated in Italian. Quote

I have the book italian demystified, an english to italian dictionary and a book of verbs. I also read a lot of online articles and use duolingo like someone else said. Quote
linguaholic Posted August 22, 2017 Report Posted August 22, 2017 I actually use a combination of books AND computer programs AND Applications. I think combining all different 'methods' and possibilities gets you the best results. Quote
