Interesting, I hadn't thought of this before. There are definitely instances where they seem interchangeable. If I brought a friend along to an event I might say I took him there. But it's subtle sometimes.

Yeah, Localization is vital for any company that wants to expand past its borders (and sometimes even internally). A lot of companies think translation is enough, but language and culture are much more slippery than that.

I can't for the life of me force myself to stress the double "t" in words like "kitten" or "button". I swallow them, which a couple of my friends find hilarious.

I think immersion is valuable, but it depends for how long and what the circumstances are. It can be stressful if done wrong.

Yeah, I think it's like dreaming. If you do something enough, your brain begins to incorporate it at a subconscious level.

I think it might be useful to expand your vocabulary and understanding of a language you already know, but music lyrics and poetry follow their own rules of structure, grammar, and even pronunciation (to make the rhyme scan) so I don't think it's useful for beginners.

A little rough, I agree that aggressive is not quite the right description. I disagree with folks who claim it isn't a musical language though, usually when comparing it to a romance language.

I had never heard of it. It looks kind of interesting, I'm usually a bit wary of 'free" programs that have paid add ons, but the way it's structured actually seems to make a certain amount of sense.

Well yes, it's not going to work for everyone regardless of its virtues. I gather it's aimed at people who are traveling and want to make themselves understood, more than general language learners. So, emphasis on cadence and pronunciation for example, rather than grammar. The thing I found most helpful about it was the breaking down into sound syllables and then building back up. It really helped with the trickier sounds that get lost in the mix.

You try to derive the Latin origin of words. Even ones from non-romance languages.

Yeah, although that reminds me that gendered nouns are the thing most likely to confuse a Spanish learner. "Pollo" is masculine, definitely. Do not get that one wrong XD
