  1. For me, it's any scientific word. I never get to use them in everyday conversations :speechless:
  2. I think slang is necessary in every language. Without slang, language would be bland and super boring. I think it is also a good way to learn a new language.
  3. This. So many people learning English gets mixed up with this.
  4. I guess you can say I am a slow reader. I like to read things carefully and make sure I understand what is written. I think it is great that people can read fast and I would like to be one of them...
  5. My inner voice is...well... I don't really know how to explain it. I guess it's kind of like an English person (England) speaking. It's very strange indeed
  6. So I've been looking around for some good books to read, but can't seem to find any that will help me improve my English. Does any of you have any suggestions? English is my primary language but I would like to improve
  7. Do you think it helps to play a video game in a different language? I personally think that it is a good way of learning a language. For example, when I was learning French, I would play video games in French and it actually helped me improve my French! What do you guys think?
  8. Here's mine: say it 5 times fast Upper roller Lower roller
  9. Yes. I hated learning French and I just wanted to give up. I just hated it and wanted to quit... but I continued and I am pretty good at it now .
  10. I think body language is universal, not just in English. I think body language is very important in all cultures though. Without it, it will be bland to talk to people.
  11. I hate it. Most multiple choices I do is like "Find the answer that best suits the question". I get 4 choices. All 4 choices are valid... but I have to find the best answer. It's so dumb :bored: I usually do well on the written part of an exam though, but poorly on a multiple choice part.
  12. I also find Spanish very attractive. I think it's a great language and most importantly, sounds great! I would also say French is pretty attractive too. Sounds cool .
  13. Dang, this is so helpful for learning German. Thank you for posting your short phrases and words!
  14. In my opinion, yes I believe Japanese music helps you learn Japanese. In fact, this can go with any language. I think it's important to have music when you are learning a new language. What do you guys think? Helps? Or doesn't help?
  15. I think this is rather unfortunate. Language is so important and the UK decides it's not necessary. I feel very sorry for them .
  16. Have you guys ever attended a school where they only speak the language you are learning? I think it is very helpful because you get used to speaking in that language and you get better at it! I've been in school in Quebec once and everyone spoke French at my school. It was a good experience and my French has improved vastly. What about you guys?
  17. Yes, I have been in charge or translating many times (for my family, not really anyone famous). It can be tough sometimes, but it's a heck of a lot fun.
  18. I haven't really thought about that... that's a really good question. I imagine people would be drawing instead of talking since they don't know a language.
  19. Don't over study. When I say that, I mean like don't study your brains out to the point where you feel like crap. Just study for like an hour or an hour and a half. That should be sufficient. Sometimes, too much work is bad for your brain
  20. Fairly well. I've been exposed to many languages and I have somewhat good at recognizing all the languages. I think it's great to recognize all the language .
  21. I never dreamed in a new language before. I guess I haven't been exposed to a new language long enough to start dreaming haha. Maybe one day when I start to learn a language more intensely.
  22. Kind of hard to forget your mother tongue . However, I can understand that if you live in a country where they don't speak your mother language, it is difficult to use it and you will lose it.
  23. Oh ya that happens to me a lot. One time I was talking to some people and I completely forgot a word... took me a good 10 seconds to figure it out. It was so embarrassing
  24. My girlfriend's family is Russian so I decided to start learning it. I am very beginner but I think I'm getting used to it. I am also just interested in this language overall . It sounds pretty cool once you can speak it fluently.
  25. Yes, I have an accent. In fact, everyone here has an accent... it's just unique.
