The method of comprehension is important for those people that are used to use deduction abilities. This is particular way to think from a general view to a specific thing of a topic. If you have a general overview from a topic you are going to prefer to learn with comprehension method than rote method because you are going to take many ideas from your text and it means that there are more content to process and for memorize, in contrast to inference abilities. 4. Hi everyone! I'd like to propose to all members of this forum a new section called "Right and Wrong", where every participant who post in here, do that to share a bit about himself; gustos, anécdotas, sueños, etc. to pursue the goal of knowing each other a little bit more and also practice or improve the learning of the wanted language. In this case, I started for "Spanish - English", since I'm a Spanish language native and I'm learning English. La mecánica es la siguiente... If the native language of the participant is Spanish, he will post in that language and then he will do in English dentro del mismo post, but WITHOUT the help of translaters; the real purpose is that he can add comprensión and practice by his own knowledge and the guiding help of the members. Whatever he don't know how to write podrá dejar igual y resaltar en negrita. The participant who answer to CORREGIR will do that offering some examples, so all the people can understand and learn. Of course if the writed post suposedly right is not, it will be corregido as well. As I mentioned this post, I shall start. PS.- The new section name is open to new suggestions.
  5. In this busy life, everyone desires to learn many things but don’t want to invest much time in it. So is the case with English learning, many people run after grammar and learning new words but no one cares to practice spoken English which is the main thing to gain the fluency and confidence when you converse in English with anyone. Understandably, for a better English, one needs to speak in English most of the time, and assuredly you need an English speaker to practice and speak in English with. Yet, most of the times we fail to get a partner to converse in English with. Right? This is the main concern individuals generally and lose the hope of learning English. However, with these many advents today in technology this is not an issue anymore. You can download the English practice app - EngVarta that may help you to converse in English with one to one Expert who may help you to improve your English and fluency. I have been using this app since a few weeks and I can feel the difference in my confidence in speaking English this day.

  10. Hi there, Does anyone know if there are any pen-pal type programs with Spanish speakers from other countries? I had a friend in France that I wrote back and forth with when I studied that and it helped immensely. Email would be fine, but I like the old-fashioned snail mail. Something about holding the letter physically and being able to review it makes my brain work a little harder and retail the information better. Thank you!
  11. Greetings: I live in Mexico. Previously I taught English in China for several years and it was necessary to learn their language to adjust my teaching style to their needs. Now, living in Mexico I can see very clearly some of the problems facing Latino students who desire to learn English. I just finished converting my Chinese phonetics program to Spanish to aid hispanohablantes. There are less sounds in Spanish than the target language English, therefore native Spanish Speakers need to be taught these sounds which, from their point of view, are unknown to them...not within their experience. The URL is here. http://www.elaanslist.com/display/fluency.php . It is not an app, but instead it is a screen cast used for self-learning. It requires personal dedication and verbal discipline to complete. It is to be used with your current English lessons.
