  1. Welcome KC, don't try to learn many languages at the same time, that is impossible!
  2. Welcome Qamra, I hope you enjoy it here at linguaholic, it's the best place to discuss languages. :karate:
  3. Welcome whatupswags! You are the true language learner :wacky:. hope to see you around!
  4. There are many many different words, the accent is totally different and the grammar too. Just the other day a Brazilian came into my office and telling me her phone number she started saying "meia" (sock) instead of six... (seis).
  5. Usually I feel pretty nervous if I haven't studied and pretty cool if I did my job. I was always a good student so I was usually ok. :beaten:
  6. One of my favorite words is scuba dive, I like the way it sounds, seems like a song. I think I also had a game called scuba dive when I was a kid.
  7. Hier hat es geregnet, aber jetzt scheint es, dass der Sommer ist zurückgekehrt, ich verstehe das wetter nicht.
  8. Hey there azathoth, welcome to linguaholic. I hope to see you in the Spanish practice threads so that you can help me improve my Spanish.
  9. I think I have only heard Spanish from Spain. In Catalunia is very similar to Portuguese, catalán on the other hand is really tricky to understand, I don't even know if it is considered another language.
  10. Podcasts are a great idea, reading is a good idea too, something that keeps you in touch with the language will keep the language alive inside your head.
  11. Thanks linguaholic. I wonder how you manage to study Chinese and Japanese at the same time, seems sehr schwierig!
  12. The movie was really great, I saw it twice already, but I am terrible with names, I blasted my mind studying languages... I know what you mean nkau, I bet if they made a movie about Portuguese I'd feel the same way.
  13. Mmm, I didn't know that either. I am sure that if you ask a moderator or the admin they will allow you to change it?
  14. Mira que tengo echo tantos errores, gracias por las correciones. Yo soy portugés, hablo un poquito de portuñol.
  15. Was sind deine schönsten Ferien JellyFish or ander deutsche spracher? :nerd:
  16. :millionaire: You are learning with brazilian accent because if it were Portuguese you would say camisola ou T-shirt (we don't use camiseta) and preservativo (we don't use camisinha either). Tesoura and tesouro are quite similar true, like cozer and coser.
  18. Welcome nkaujntses, I hope you enjoy linguaholic. Actually I've seen a great movie in which they were talking about Hmongs, a movie with Clint Eastwood, can't really recall the name, but I really enjoyed it.
  19. Welcome Anastasios, interesting name now that I know the meaning. I am sure you will enjoy it here, it's a great forum! :wacky:
  20. Welcome eruvande, I know what you mean. I've studied quite a few languages, when I started learning a new one I had the feeling that the previous one disappeared from my mind. :ninja:
  21. I have just noticed I have a huge text under my "currently studying" under my avatar. There is no way to make it shorter though.
