  2. Hey there Bernard, welcome to linguaholic. What's the national language of Kenya? Is it English? If it is I think you'll be teaching me because I am Portuguese. I hope to see you around.
  3. I'd say: I'd love to be in the beach right now catching some sun and relaxing. Me gustaria much estar ahora en la playa tomando baños de sol y a relajar. Ella vende conchas a la beira mar. I wish I was a professional tennis player so that I could see the world. :indian:

  7. I think four months it's not much time to learn a language, and if you haven't practiced since then I suppose you must have forgotten. You have no materials from the course you took? That would be my first option.
  8. I suppose this is hard for a native English speaker, we have the same structure in Portuguese. It's pretty much like jbepp says, tu is for someone you have confidence with (family or friends) and usted for someone older or in a professional relation.
  9. Thanks for sharing, I've downloaded it, it has a great structure and very basic, but useful information, a great way to start on the language.

  12. We have loads of forums and threads, sometimes it's hard to keep up in what threads I have posted already. Is there a way to mark a thread when we have an answer in it? Also, a notification system would be great as well, in that way we would know who's answering to our questions. Thanks. :wacky:
  13. Llego la hora de empezar a trabajar y dejar la divérsion para el fin de semana. I'd love to be in the beach right now catching some sun and relaxing.
  14. Hey there peppers, welcome to linguaholic. :wacky: What language are you learning? If you have a friend that speaks it I'm sure it will be a huge help.
  17. I'm Portuguese so I'd say my strengths are knowing English. Now seriously, I think I speak fairly OK and I can understand well too, so possibly my weakest part should be writing, I'm aware I make a few mistakes, but I'm really trying to correct them and I count with your help to do it.
  18. I really don't mind being associated with a particular age group, I'm beyond that already. I do get my time to get to stuff, like dah for example, it took me quite a few months still I started using it. :sweating:
  19. Thanks Nriz and Firelily, do correct my mistakes, I'm sure I'm making a few. I'm Portuguese and I've learned English since I was a child, but I know it's still far from perfect.
  20. Yes, that's the biggest stereotype, most Americans only speak English because they don't think other languages are important. I think this is wrong, English is no doubt the most important language, but other languages are important too of course.
