Difference between 'elegant' and 'smart'
diprod replied to Mark Skype Teacher's topic in English Vocabulary
These are two worlds apart kind of words. Smart is related to being wise. Elegance is a style and class. -
I wish people still use old English languages like Thy, thou and hath! It would be pretty classy to hear everybody say these words again. I mean it's like living in Shakespeare's era!
-
I use Mirriam and Webster. I also love using Thesaurus lately to see other words related to a word I'm looking for. I'm a writer so this one helps me a lot.

Words that you would love to make your names
diprod replied to Eudora13's topic in English Vocabulary
I like the word Sapphire. It sounds sophisticated and elegant. It rolls off the tongue easily too. -
Have Countries Become More "English-Friendly"?
diprod replied to Baburra's topic in Language Learning
I think so far these days, countries are more English-friendly. Although there are still some that can barely speak the language and it's not just Japan. But there are a lot in Europe too. I'm not exactly sure why though. -
I love Canadians. They are funny and I find their English cool. They are good people too.

Do you care what others think about the way you talk?
diprod replied to rossonomous's topic in English Language | Discussion
I don't really care. As long as I am not hurting anybody or offended on what I'm saying. I used to care about this really, but then I got tired. It's best to just be yourself. -
Is poetry allowed to break grammar rules?
diprod replied to PeterPen's topic in English Language | Discussion
I wouldn't mind as long as it's still sounds artistic. Although the truth is that it shouldn't be allowed. -
It's always good to express yourself indeed with words and just letting things out with your lips. I try hard to think it first though before just saying it. I dont want to come off insensitive.

movies with subtitles help in improving or not.?
diprod replied to lovely's topic in English Language | Discussion
It does help. Although they don't really do anything for me. But sometimes, they do help. -
There is a thin line between constructive criticism and just plain criticism. I think for grammar, to correct someone in public is just not right unless you are a teacher teaching a student.
-
I think any language that you are not interested to learn will not be worth your time learning them anyway. Or any language that has no use to your life. That will be a waste of time.

I like to study in a garden that is quiet. Nature has always inspired me so I'm going to find a garden near me. I like the calming atmosphere too.

What words just roll of your tongue naturally
diprod replied to lovemwaf's topic in Language Learning
I love saying "bro" most of the time. I think it's funny and it just roll of my tongue. I can't even help it. -
The most beautiful writing script (writing system)

I think it would be the ways of the Egyptian. Those are some really artistic writing. A lot of work but definitely awesome! -
Have you ever met someone who could speak multiple languages.
diprod replied to mareebaybay's topic in Language Learning
Yes. I'm always amazed by them. I am only bi-lingual but I wish I could learn more languages. It's impressive. -
Oh absolutely. From the diction to the accent, they definitely sound different. It is actually fascinating.

I dont want to force my kids if they dont want to you yet. But it's also best to teach them at a very young age. It's easier for them to learn.
-
I'm a songwriter so I would prefer lyrics. But poems could actually be lyrics too so they're both good. Poetry is the stripped version of lyrics. Raw and real.
-
I'm always nervous before any exam. I fell like I always have to faint before it. I feel so much pressure!
-
It is indeed an art. I love poetry. I find it easy to express myself in it. Life itself is poetry in motion.
-
I prefer the one without the U. Colour is more for people in Europe indeed. Color is more from the US. And I have always used that latter. Although COLOUR appears to be more formal.

Is English part of your education?
diprod replied to betita03's topic in English Language | Discussion
Yes. I have studied English since I was in kindergarten. That's actually the first language I was taught. And in my country, English is part of our curriculum from elementary to college. -

I believe that music is a good way to learn a new language. Although I haven't really accomplished learning a new one with this. But I can sing some foreign songs, I still don't know what they mean though.
