Experimental game :D

Hello everyone! So, in this discussion a game was proposed - http://linguaholic.com/forum-suggestions-requests/game-section/  I hope you like it - the rules are pretty simple - it is just a guessing game. One member gives a few clues for a word and the next ones gives his answer along with a new question for the player to follow. Multiple answers are possible, as long as it fits  the given description.

For example:

"It rhymes with a table but is not one of Aesop's works"

To this the next player can answer with stable, or label or cable (I bet there are many others) and ask the next one. Rhyming is not necessary, I just used it here like a clue. You can point other things too to navigate the answer, like number of letters, if it is verb, noun, etc.

As I said in the original topic, I liked playing this game (tho I never played in any other languages different from Bulgarian, because sometimes you can see unexpected but still correct guesses on the clues you've given.

So I start the game:

It rhymes with danger but is not always so dangerous

So don't you have your mind set, before you've even met.

Sorry if my clues are little clumsy, maybe I should have waited till morning (it's past 1 am here ) but I got excited about this game. So you're welcome to jumo in the fun!

A stranger?

A word meaning window covering or oblivious,

Somewhat more obvious: A person who cannot see."

Yup, Ariel, this is exactly what I had in mind!  (tho I'd take The Lonely Ranger for an answer too :D

As for yours, I'd go for... blinds?

And here's a new one:

I use it for my hobby, which is to sew,

But you can find it everywhere in this forum too.

Haha! Nice game. And the current one is so easy.

Needle...nah joking it's Thread.

This word rhymes with bed, and weed as well.

It can be in a pencil, or help police with their investigation.

The person who has this in a race, always wins. The person who has this in a group, has the most power.

Great idea for a game!

Lead.

I've got a feelin' that I'm not a dog,

For I'm a pet that finds pleasantries a slog.

(I apologise...that was awful...Also, I hope somebody picks up on the more subtle clue in the first line)

This is way beyond me! Maybe a cat.

But I have no rhyme to give back. I can give you a funny word though -

Slugabed  :  Yup, it's real.

According to merriam-webster.com

a person who stays in bed after the usual or proper time to get up;

:)  I even taught my kids.

Hog!

It rhymes with pelt and will light on fire but will not melt.

Mmm, how about felt? But who would burn something like a cute felt toy, lol?

It can be a verb for when I look, and I see and when I am on guard

But the one on my wrist is old, silver, leather and scarred.

Watch!

It illuminates the shadows

And means easy to carry

Hmm I am not sure about this... Maybe  sight? Like what we see isn't always what is right?

I would like a confirmation if I am right or not lol!

It flies in the skies

It is made of magic and fire

It dies and from ash it aspires.

Actually its might.

As in, might is not always right.

I guess it was a bit vague in the end.

Oh no, your clues were good, it is just that I didn't read them right  :shy: I've never heard this saying with this words actually. So this game really is good for learning new stuff

Phoenix

Hah, nice one.

You can arrange data in it, or put your stuff on it.

It's something that you'll find in most rooms of the world.

Table?

It is season and it is water coming out

and you can find it in your toys and clock

Spring~

When you're penning a novel or paper, you'll write many of these,

You might have to join the military, even if that's not what you please

Yes, it was a cat! I was trying to use "feelin'" as a play on "feline" but I think maybe it was a bit obtuse...Love your word by the way!

Okay, back to the game...

Ariel - is it letter?

Used for conducting an orchestra or majorette dance,

Or you can make one from dough, if given the chance.
