I somehow do not find it comfortable when it comes to using US vs UK English. We are being taught in one form right from our young age. It is kind of difficult to adapt to these subtle changes all of a sudden!

The quotation marks are present in this sentence to indicate direct speech. Hence I suppose the full stop has to come inside the quotation marks. But am not exactly sure about this, waiting for more clarifications on this!

Just forget the rule books for a minute and think about this logically. A comma is used when you want to denote that there is another item in the list "And" is used in a sentence to denote the last item in the list. So when you used "and" obviously the item before it should not end with comma because the precise reason for using "and" is to show the end of the list while a comma is used to denote continuation of the list!

The funny thing is sometimes wrong stuff like this is used so commonly across various media, that eventually people start believing that they are actually true and correct!

It depends on our job profile and the industry we work for. There are certain jobs that require you to know 2 or more foreign languages. In such scenarios, we do not have a choice!

Well, isn't this such a subjective concept. Obviously for people with Chinese as their mother tongue it is going to be a cake walk. Also Chinese is so different from English and hence we find it so very difficult!

Al though I study and converse mostly in English, my mind still thinks in my mother tongue. I try and translate those thoughts in my mother tongue into other languages I know!

Am happy that such a thing has never happened to me before! Similar to your case, we have all our studies and conversations in English. So to keep up my mother tongue knowledge I try and read books in my mother tongue regularly!

Friends, how difficult is Hindi grammar to master? Obviously the difficulty level might vary based on whether the particular language is our native language or not. But on a normal scale, how difficult it is to master Hindi grammar?
