  2. Newspapers journalist and writers have to compete each other to sell their press release, therefore, skill in rethorics is an important asset to handle properly while writing. You don't want to sound pedantic, but also, if you oversimplify your writing, the content might end up too bland. By the way, Japanese language institutions has issued a number of Kanji characters that bounds newspaper writers into using only around 2000 of these when writing content.
  3. Japanese grammar is easy but the Kanji onyomi and kunyomi ambiguity really gives me headaches. Anyway, the easiest language could be Esperanto or any other language closely related to your native tongue, like a portuguese or italian learning spanish, or a german learning english, or a japanese learning chinese. They achieve a level of fluency in shorter time than struggling with another more foreign language, just like me attempting to learn Hebrew or classic Arabic.
  4. The best way to learn spanish is through something that is coherent with your habits. You can learn a language by singing and playing the piano if you enjoy performing, or watch tons of T.V shows by mimicking the speech of your favorite characters if you enjoy spending hundreds of hours watching thru a screen. There is not other way to reach an informal, but actually working, level of a language proficiency. For an academic level of fluency, you shall attend a school or look for a tutor in order to master advanced grammar and other fancy stuff.
  5. I remember singing along Tenacious D. music to practice my english pronountiation, Jack Black is really a rad rock star, Meat loaf is also awesome. Take a look at "kickapoo" for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvvjiE4AdUI A long ass freaking time ago In a town called Kickapoo There lived a humble family Religious through and through But yay, there was a black sheep And he knew just what to do His name was young J.B. And he refused to step in line A vision he did see-eth Freaking rocking all the time He wrote a tasty jam And all the planets did align Oh, the dragon's boards were blazing As I stepped into his cave Then I sliced his freaking cockles With a long and shiny blade 'Twas I who bugged the dragon Buckalizing buckaloo And if you try to buck with me Then I shall buck you too Gotta get it on in the party zone I gotta lock and load in the party zone Gotta lick a toad in the party zone Gotta break the code in the party zone You've disobeyed my orders, son Why were you ever born? Your brother's ten times better than you Jesus loves him more This music that you play for us Comes from the depths of Hell Rock 'n' roll's the Devil's work He wants you to rebel You'll become a mindless puppet Beelzebub will pull the strings Your heart will lose direction And chaos, it will bring You'd better shut your mouth You better watch your tone You're going for a week With no telephone Don't wanna hear you cry Don't let me hear you moan You gotta praise The Lord When you're in my home Dio, can you hear me? I am lost and so alone I'm asking for your guidance Won't you come down from your throne? I need a tight compadre Who will teach me how to rock My father thinks you're evil But man, he can suck a rock Rock is not the Devil's work It's magical and rad I'll never rock as long as I am Stuck here with my dad I hear you, brave young Jables You are hungry for the rock But to learn the ancient method Sacred doors, you must unlock Escape your father's clutches And this oppressive neighborhood On a journey, you must go To find the land of Hollywood In The City of fallen angels Where the ocean meets the sand You will form a strong alliance And the world's most awesome band To find your fame and fortune Through the valley you must walk You will face your inner demons Now go, my son and rock So he bailed from freaking Kickapoo With hunger in his heart And he journeyed far and wide To find the secrets of his art But in the end, he knew That he would find his counterpart Rock, rock, rock
  6. Both italian and Spanish are romance languages, just like Portuguese and French. These languages have lots of similar words and grammar rules, also they share a fondness for convoluted verb conjugations xD. And yes, Italian and spanish are very related since these two share regular vowel pronountiation as a very convenient feature.
  7. I love Soda Estéreo songs. Cerati was an unique vocal performer, and his band is a referent for spanish rock scene. I will leave one of their best songs: "Persiana Americana". https://youtu.be/rTPhjLmSowY
  8. This. In spain there are a lot of autonomous communities besides Catalunya that speak an unique dialect. The other comunities are: Andalucía,Galicia, Aragón,extremadura and País Vasco. Catalunya is probably the most famous autonomous community in a foreigner's eyes, since their independence conflict with Spain similar to Québec with Canadá is awfully popular on newspapers.
  9. Nobody has suggested "El Chavo del Ocho" :O, how dare you my fellows spanish natives to not recommend this worldwide popular mexican t.v sitcom!. Seriously tho, I actually find difficult to suggest quality content made in actual native spanish other than El Chavo del Ocho. "Mafalda" animated short clips are also a good.
  10. Maybe coming this response from me is a bit cheap and unfair, since I'm spanish native, and I'm currently living (not for much) on a spanish speaking country. The problem of living in a homogeneus country is that you don't have many chances to actually use your language on training over actual real situations. Wish I had more chances to speak english, french or japanese outside of my family environment.
  11. Abro este tema para interactuar con gente aprendiendo el idioma y proporcionarle correcciones pertinentes si aplican. Así que, ¿ Qué tal si empezamos con un tema habitual?. Comentenme lo que quieran sobre su trasfondo cultural: costumbres de tu familia, las efemérides de tu comunidad, lo bueno, lo malo etc.
  12. Common useful words, often misused or bad written by learners: - Colocar->put. - Vergüenza->shame. - billete -> cash. - Alegría->joy. - anciano -> elder. - desempeñar,rendir-> perform - flujo-> flow - ritmo ->rythm
  13. Just a few corrections. * I don't like any other dishes * Those have a high content in fat. Regards;
  14. * This is one of those cases where you don't need to use definite articles. But it's incorrect either. * This sentence makes more sense with a present continous like has finished.
  16. Hope my corrections help. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
  17. Whole books and long has been discussed about the main verbs of spanish: ser and estar. As everyone of you already know, Ser and estar can both be translated as "to be." Let's check out how curious is this thing: Notice that these two sentences can have different meanings both in English and spanish. The apple is green. (La manzana está verde) (Meaning the apple is not ripe.) The apple is green. (La manzana es verde) (Meaning the color of the apple is green.) You see there, when I'm referring to an attribute, like the color of someone or something, "es" is used. When you want to express the "state" of someone or something, you use "estar" instead. "García está vivo", "García es alto", "Garcia es moreno","García está en el baño","Garcia es tímido", "Garcia está comiendo", etc.
  18. Not smoking allowed-> prohibido fumar Postre-> dessert camarero->waiter tentempié-> snack vaso de agua-> glass of water propina->tip
  19. Great choice of domain extension and very seo friendly website name, you probably gather lots of keywords traffic there. Despite the obnoxious wall of ads, I think your website is pretty decent, and is a great asset for your website to add audio. Keep up the good work.
  20. Alright, an useful word for you people: cegar/segar=> cegar means to blind someone/ segar means to mow,harvest, reap. aprender/apreheneder=> aprender is to learn/aprehender is apprehension. casa/caza=> casa is house/caza is hunt.
  21. Interests may vary. When learning a language, generally speaking, my reasons are: - Cultural interest. Not the strongest reason to keep on learning but is valid nonetheless. - Usefulness. How many people speak this language? How much I can achieve with spending time learning it? - Family background. A close family member or several of them speak a different language that I don't know. Not a bad idea to learn through them, as long as they are up to it. - Immigration. If I move to another country long term, I suppose is for my best interest to learn the local language. - Fianceé. If I'm engaged with a girl from a foreign background. Could be neat to share our cultural customs each other.
  22. Me too. I have to actually listen and read at least one time a word to fully understand It in a speech. My listening is always my weakest skill for all the languages I know, even my native one. I'm more comfortable with reading, but I think is just because my habit is to sit idle and read rather than speak with others.
  23. *conexión *Además * Quienes hablan* español. Hablan is a conjugated term from "hablar", when the third person is plural, is written like that in present tense: hablan. Ellos hablan, ellas hablan...
  24. * "la" is a definite article for specific subjects or objects. When you mean "la salsa de tomates", you are talking about a generic object which is a tomato sauce. Therefore, you can remove the definite article and change it with "una" since salsa de tomates is in feminine, or just leave it without it : "se cocina con salsa de tomates". * "al estilo nigeriano" or "en estilo nigeriano". The same thing I stated in the previous correction.
  25. *1 También. *2 "ir a comer" instead of "ir de comer", "ir de comer" is like writing in english "go of eat" instead of "go to eat.". Remember you're going "to" eat, so you should use "a" to point the subject towards a direction. voy al cine, voy a la playa, iré a la ciudad etc.
