  1. I use short cuts all the time, even though I do not always do it on purpose. It is just a easy and convenient way to text people without the extra hassle.
  2. I do not watch any media in the language I am learning on my time. By my time I am referring to free time, whenever I have a chance too. However I have watched media in another language before, many times!
  3. I wish I had a roommate that knew a foreign language. I mean how easy would it be to get help from someone to learn a language. I think it would be completely beneficial to anyone attempting to learn a new language.
  4. I personally love pop cultural references. Especially when the references are used in quotes and related terms. They are beneficial to plenty of language learning areas.
  5. I find some languages more beautiful than others as well.
  6. I too, believe learning a high amount of languages is not a bad thing. I just think that learning too many languages may be a bad idea, such as learning more than 6 languages.
  7. I mean in my opinion I don't think I would be very concerned about using a language in real time situations. I mean if I know the language, and actually practiced it I don't think I will have anything to worry about.
  8. I believe Native speakers are really good at their language. I say that because my native language is English and I am very good at speaking English. At least in my opinion, I know most words as well as phrases. I am also very fluent at speaking English.
  9. The most useless foreign language I have tried to learn was French. I wanted to learn French don't get me wrong. The only thing about learning it was me actually using it which I saw myself not doing in the near future.
  10. To regain fluency in a language, you can just practice. You will probably need a great teacher, as those help with the process to some degree.
  11. I agree, that this is not exactly a insult. I mean there are tons of people who try to learn a new language and go overboard while doing so. It is just a mistake on their end, but it happens if it is not their native language.
  12. Language does not shape the way i think, but it does influence the way I think. On the other hand though, I think Language does a big job in the thinking department. I mean I think in English and that is my language. So I wonder if I would be able to think without language.
  13. I think the most important reason to learn a new language, is to increase your brain capacity. Learning a new language, will also make it much easier for you to understand other people .
  14. I have never worked or lived abroad before either.
  15. I mean the most positively heard about program I can think of that helps you learn a new language would probably be Rosetta Stone. Rosetta Stone has just about everything you need to help you learn a new language to your best ability.
  16. I won't go as far as saying another language as given me the ability to pass in another culture. Although I do think another language has given me the ability to strive in another culture and be able to maintain myself.
  17. The most useful foreign language I have learned is Spanish. Spanish is a great language to learn because it helps you in a number of ways. I have been very satisfied and content with learning Spanish.
  18. I mean the one obvious one to me would be Chinese and Japanese. I believe both of those languages are very similar. They have similar characters and words as well.
  19. I won't say that any teachers inspired me, but they sure did push me. A lot of my teachers pushed me to learn multiple languages. They tried to sell me, on it being beneficial which it actually is.
  20. I too use both. I like to give examples more though. Some of my friends tend to get mad at me, because of me doing so, but this is what I like to do in my opinion.
  21. I don't see why it would not be possible. I mean the only thing I can see holding someone back from learning a language is it being time consuming. Other than that, I believe learning a new language to be fairly easy for anyone no matter the age.
  22. I am a very quick learner, that learns better from seeing it happen before my eyes. I learn much better when I have something to teach me, which makes everything a lot easier in my opinion.
  23. Great question, something that could really benefit everyone using this forum.
