I agree, that Television can greatly increase you influence on learning a new language. Although just watching TV won't make you learn new languages, you have to ensure that you learn the language, because no one can force you.

Linguisitically Speaking, Are Americans Arrogant?
mareebaybay replied to cinderr's topic in Language Learning
I wouldn't call all of us arrogant. I think we are just a bit confident and maybe cocky at times. Although some people have good reason to be. I just don't think we are that arrogant. -
I will definitely have to check this out soon.

What do you think about multiple choice tests/exams?
mareebaybay replied to linguaholic's topic in Language Learning
Multiple choice are the easiest tests you could ever take. It is merely process of elimination. You have to eliminate the dumb answers, and make sure you pick the most rational. -
I don't think shy would be the word for it. Sometimes I would be a little tense, because I don't want to say the wrong thing around them or mess up. I would never be shy though, because you could easily just ask them for hep down the road.

The best part of learning new languages
mareebaybay replied to polaroidsredwine's topic in Language Learning
My favorite part about learning a new language is actually being able to use that language fluently. No one wants to learn a language for no reason. It always feels great to be able to speak that language after all your hard work. -
Have you ever met someone who could speak multiple languages.
mareebaybay replied to mareebaybay's topic in Language Learning
I'm happy to hear all of you guys great experiences. -
I really can't remember my first words. That is definitely something I would have to ask my parents, because I was too young and I can't remember at all lol.

Is it worth learning multiple languages
mareebaybay replied to lovemwaf's topic in Language Learning
I mean personally, I don't see why I would ever have to learn a lot of languages. Although for some people they have reasons to why it would be important for them to learn multiple languages. There are benefits to learning multiple languages though. -
I have never heard of language extinction. The reason I say that, is because a language going extinct is something serious. Although I can understand why they would be switching their language to English. English is a easy language and spoken almost on ever continent.

Which language do you think is easier, French or Spanish?
mareebaybay replied to IssamH's topic in Language Learning
I think Spanish is the easier language to learn. Although both languages are hard to learn, just like any language. I think it is really up to you, and how hard you are willing to work at learning that language. -
I only speak two languages, English and Spanish.

Learning 2 languages at once vs one at a time?
mareebaybay replied to pdxchristine's topic in Language Learning
I would assume it would be easier to learn one language at a time, rather than learning two at one time. I mean that would put such a strain on your brain lol. I don't think I would be able to think straight trying to learn two languages at one time. -
Learning a new accent can be hard for some people, because they are not used to doing so. I remember when I was in high school I had a teacher, that was strict about that. She would always want use to speak in Spanish, but also sound like a Spanish speaking person as well. She would get mad if our accent was not on point. Which was hard because you have to train yourself to speak that way, especially rolling it off the tongue correctly.

Which English words do you have trouble spelling?
mareebaybay replied to a topic in English Language | Discussion
I have a hard time spelling words with tons of double letters. I am great at sounding a word out though, which makes things much easier. -
Do you ever forget some words in your native language?
mareebaybay replied to Qamra's topic in Language Learning
I never forget any words from my native language. However there are times when I forget how to spell a certain word out of my native vocabulary. That is the only problems I may ever have related to my native language. -
I usually say slow poke. I don't even know what a slow poke is, I just assume it is some type of animal closely related to a sloth lol.
