This is a common grammar mistake. Your is a possessive pronoun. While you're is for You Are which is obviously a different grammar point.

I would say the first one is correct. Because if you are going to use the 2nd one, I think it has to be "A thousand documents." You need to add the "A" at the beginning.

Since this is the age of iPhones and smartphones, we now all have an app for that. It's still very handy to carry it with you when you are in a new country. It has helped me a lot.
