D&D Name Generator

Generate Dungeons & Dragons character names by race — elf, dwarf, human, orc, halfling, or tiefling — with fantasy surnames.

What is a D&D name generator?

A D&D name generator creates character names for Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop RPGs. Pick a race and it builds a fitting given name plus a fantasy surname — instantly, as many as you need, for player characters, NPCs, and villains.

    How to use it

    1. Choose a race (or Any) and how many names you want.
    2. Press Generate for a fresh batch.
    3. Press Copy all to save your favourites.

    Names by race

Each race — elf, dwarf, human, orc, halfling, tiefling — has its own sound. Dwarves get sturdy, consonant-heavy names; elves get flowing, vowel-rich ones; orcs get harsh, guttural names, and so on. Choose “Any” to mix them all for a whole party.

    Free for your campaign

Every name is an original combination, free to use in D&D, Pathfinder, or any RPG. Need pure fantasy names? Character Name Generator and Elf Name Generator help too.
