diprod Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Thanks for this. This forum has completely encouraged me to be a linguist! Seriously, I never thought I'd rekindle this passion for learning new language again until I signed up here! Quote
Trellum Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 Awesome! I think this is exa fly what we needed! Having a language exchange sub forum is a great idea I might need to get in contact with a dutch native in the future Thanks admin! I'm sure a lot people will benefit from this Quote
Lin Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Thank you linguaholic for that link. I'll certainly look into it. Want to brush up on my Spanish .Me too...I really love Spanish. I excelled in the subject in my formative years (getting a lot of 100%s and all As). I was one of the best students in my class. Sadly, I haven't been practicing the language since high school. So, I am going to join this exchange. Quote
sidney Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Good job in coming up with that specific section, it will greatly benefit those people who want a language buddy to teach them one on one, since it would be more convenient to find one in this forum. I hope to find a language buddy soon. Quote
mikka254 Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Thank you for the heads up.I'll be looking for someone who is good at French.I see that your native tongue is kikuyu. My kikuyu is a bit rusty, can you teach me some kikuyu phrases? Quote
sos Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Great job.Hope you will get as many members as you would love to have.I'll remember to look into it. Quote
LindaKay Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 I think this forum is a wonderful idea. I hope it's successful, but I'm sure it will be! Quote
qaximor Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Thank you so much! I really needed this always wanted to exchange languages and learn some German. Hope someone wants to learn Arabic and teach me German! Can't wait to use it. Quote
winsomenotions Posted March 9, 2014 Report Posted March 9, 2014 This is a great idea! I think it will be very helpful for practicing languages I want to learn as well as offering my assistance in my native tongue! I'll be sure to try it out as soon as I can. Quote
Rosyrain Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 Thanks for adding the exchange. This would have helped me out tremendously in college with learning Spanish. It is like having a one on one tutor that you can connect with but it's free. I am going to see if I can connect with someone to teach me Italian and help me out with Spanish. Quote
ClaireDelatour Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 I love the idea! I think it will be useful for everyone! Well done Quote
003 Posted April 25, 2014 Report Posted April 25, 2014 Great! I have high hopes this would significantly supplement my learning of a language. Very exciting! Thanks and keep posting forums of something like this, something that is really helpful! Quote
angie51 Posted April 26, 2014 Report Posted April 26, 2014 What a fantastic idea the new subforum is. A language Buddy shall be very useful to everyone who has an interest in foreign languages, regardless of how knowledgeable of that particular language one may be. I personally hope to refresh my french, as this year I am going to France for my annual summer holiday. Quote
GingerSpice Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 Thank you! This is such a useful forum for others to help us, I'm always in need of feedback! As someone else said, it's great that it's somewhat like a free tutoring service! Quote
jfab Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 This is awesome! Thanks for the update. I do love to explore new languages and forums are definitely great for it. Congratulations on this forum! Quote
healthandfitness Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 I really appreciate this forum. I am someone who appreciates linguists, and always wanted to learn other languages. Having a forum of enthusiasts that are here to share is a wonderful way for me to get started. Hopefully one day I will be a language ninja. :ninja: Quote
