Is it "What could have happen" or "What could have happened"?
fredkawig replied to CeliVega's topic in English Grammar
What could have happened is the correct usage, you can immediately distinguish wrong grammar from one which is correct. It is in a conditional perfect tense according to this site http://www.englisch-hilfen.de/en/grammar/english_tenses.htm -
Yes. Grammar checkers are now on the internet unlike before, I haven't tried any of those softwares though, I hope it works well for you guys, I might try it in the future.

Age one and up is usually a good time to practice and teach your baby words properly. If you mess with children and not teach them properly at a young age, they will carry this throughout their lifetime which can be consequential in adult stages.

How do you find a fun way to learn a language?
fredkawig replied to Denis Hard's topic in Language Learning
Yes. Word games are a really fun way to learn a language. Board games such as Scrabble and word games such as Word Factory and Boogle are a great way to learn the English language more quickly and with added fun and excitement. -
There are lots of lanugages right now which are appearing and are coming out of political, social and other beliefs and norms which are being established. Homosexuals are creating a new language, the business men, techies and all kinds of people are creating a new language for themselves.

If short sentences help. . .

Just remove adjectives that tend to elongate and lengthen your point. Get straight to the point without adding too much spice or highfalutin words. -

Learning 2 languages at once vs one at a time?
fredkawig replied to pdxchristine's topic in Language Learning
Of course. It's true for all aspects. When you are not focusing on one task, it tends to be more difficult specially when your attention is divided equally. -
Yup Latin since it is a dead language. Those languages which are dead or are no longer used should not be learned. With exception to important languages like Aramaic of course.

What words just roll of your tongue naturally
fredkawig replied to lovemwaf's topic in Language Learning
Yes. Yeah. Okay. Fine. You know. No. I have a lot of words which constantly roll out of my mouth whenever I speak. Most of them are in answer to the question which was asked of me. -
I'm the type of person that listens and watches things and thus learns a lot by hearing and watching. Auditory and Visual is what's best for me. Being taught orally is the most effective way of learning for me.

Do you think languages sound differently?
fredkawig replied to lookforuu's topic in Language Learning
Languages are similar with regard to the terms and words we use but just with a different tone. I still say that the tower of Babel was the reason why we have this commonality of vocabulary and the only reason we got separated is because of that event. -
Color is much simpler which is the U.S. standard, colour is a European standard. Savor and savour, Flavor and Flavour and a lot others. I would stick to the U.S. standard.

Yes. Poetry was very interesting when I was forced to do it in High-school but after that phase, I'm not doing any poems already. I'm kind of lazy nowadays and am not into poems that much.

From what I've learned from my professor in College. Synthesis is the agreement or an argument which is the end effect of Thesis/Anti-thesis arguments. So the answer could actually be Synthesis which would be true if the first and second argument are from different sides of an argument.

We don't celebrate thanksgiving in the Philippines. My instructor is against thanksgiving primarily because of the historical basis according to her wherein people were killed and enslaved in the olden times and so on and so forth. We celebrate Christmas though but only to thank God for the blessings and for Jesus saving us from death.

I prefer to study in the library and in other places where you can read without getting disturbed. The library is a really good place which I've only used recently because our Elementary and High-Schools had no library before.

What made you decide to start learning a foreign language?
fredkawig replied to RoseThurst's topic in Language Learning
I started learning a new language because I wanted to. And because I think the language is very interesting and very attractive. French is the language I really want to learn because of the way people speak, it seems so good. -
French, French, French. As soon as I heard them speak, I knew it was sexy. This is one of the reasons I want to speak French. Hopefully, I soon will.

Can you be fluent by learning only 1,000 words?
fredkawig replied to Denis Hard's topic in Language Learning
1000 words are a lot. I believe you can be fluent with those number of words in your vocabulary. I'm not even sure how many words I know. I think I'm fluent enough though. -
Yes. Scrabble, Wordfactory and other Board games are very helpful in mastering the English language. My mom is very into Word Factory. She used to play it everyday, know I'm not that sure.

Do you ever think about how life would be without language.
fredkawig replied to mareebaybay's topic in Language Learning
I don't think about such things. Since I believe that Language was given to us by God. And therefore God exists thus making our life more meaningful and with sense. I would rather not live if this life is without any purpose at all. But there is a purpose, to worship God. -
Have you ever met someone who could speak multiple languages.
fredkawig replied to mareebaybay's topic in Language Learning
I am in a race with people who know a lot of languages. Yes. Filipinos are very interesting, we are culturally diverse and full of foreign blood. I myself speak 4 languages Although 3 of them are the only ones I've mastered.
