'Geht das ?' sounds better than 'Geht es ?' in this context. Or you could say something like "Geht das in Ordnung?" or 'Ist das OK für dich?'

In Switzerland English is not an official languages. However, most of the people here can speak some English. Most young people are fluent in English, whereas older people are sometimes struggling to get their message across in English (not very surprising, is it?). I am always amazed to see how good Scandinavian people/countries are when it comes to speaking English. Some of them almost sound like native speakers to me.

The sentence is completely ok like this. In fact ' Er hat Geburstag heute' would be grammatically correct as well, however the focus would be more on Geburtstag than 'heute' . So in the first sentence the focus is moren on the day and in the second one more on the event.

'Zu' and 'Nach' are both used for directions. Generally 'zu' is used together with people and 'nach' is used with places (often of more general nature) when the places has NO article. However, there are also some exceptions. Often you can also use 'in' in connection with directions. You could say something like: 'Ich gehe ins Kino' Ich gehe ins Schwimmbad'

Hi Cheers100 Welcome to linguaholic.com! There are some mistakes in your sentences. The first sentence should be: Das ist sicher nicht falsch. The second sentence should be 'Das macht ihnen bestimmt Freude. 'bestimmt't and 'sicher' could be used in both sentences, however it probably sounds a little bit more natural to say 'Das macht ihnen bestimmt Freude' than 'Das macht ihnen sicher Freude'.
