  1. Hi Noah Thank you for registering on www.linguaholic.com! Hopefully you will have a great time here! If you have any questions about German, French, English or Chinese, I might be able to help you out :=) For other languages, please refer to other linguaholics here in our forum :=)
  2. Actually it is not universal at all. Even in a small country like Switzerland you got several DIFFERENT kinds of sign language. So it is kinda like different dialects of a language. It's an interesting question though, as earlier on, I also thought that maybe there is one universal sign language..however, I am 100 % sure now that this is not true.
  3. Hey Solarees There have been plenty of requests for a dozen of new languagues.....and I did create subforums for a lot of them, but sadly most of them had almost no content in them after a few weeks/month, so I had to delete them. I suggest that you start some threads about Esperanto in the 'Other languages' section and if the participation and interest in those threads is big enough, I will be more than happy to create an Esperanto subforum! I promise
  4. Oh, that's cool! But Nightwish has Songs in English as well, I reckon ? :=) There are a few Finnish Native Speakers on linguaholic.com. Hopefully you can find them. If not, I will help you to find them :=)
  5. Hey Susa! Welcome to Linguaholic! You are studying Finnish by yourself? That's interesting! I would love to hear more about that. I have been in Finland many times, however I can just speak a few words in Finnish. kind regards from Switzerland lingua
  6. Those examples are hilarious, Trellum. Thanks for sharing, hehe. The last one is really funny. Of course it's Japanese. They always seem to have the weirdest stuff :=)
  7. Hey Marco! Thank you for joining linguaholic.com! I am happy to see another polyglot joining our forum! I think living in different countries for some months or maybe even a couple of year is the easiest and maybe also the most enjoyable/natural way of learning a language. I got to say I feel a little bit jealous about your diverse language skills :wacky: May I ask you how you were able to live in many different countries? did you have business to do in all those countries or how could you manage to live in each of those for several months/years ? kind regards from Switzerland lingua
  8. Hi there Ahmed Thank you for joining linguaholic.com! I am happy to hear that you are studying English. We have lots of native English speakers here in the forum and I am sure they will be happy to assist you in studying English! If you have any questions about the forum, please let me know! kind regards from Switzerland Lingua
  9. Wise words, PashaR. I completely agree with you. However, it is really still sad that it is like this. I guess in Britain they have the same kind of problem. Well, one could argue that the problem there is maybe not as bad as Britain is 'surrounded" by many European countries.
  10. Yes, Hindi is definitely in the Top 5 as well, but most people seem to forget about it
  11. Hey Archangelos Would you mind telling me what kind of problem you faced when you tried to upload those documents? I might be able to help you uploading them. regards lingua
  12. That's an interesting question alanoww. I never really thought about this. However I do agree, that literally is a word that gets used far too often and often not as it should be used.
  13. Hey Edda Thank you for joining linguaholic.com! We have many native English speakers on here. I am sure you can find someone who is willing to teach you English! 19. Linguee is great, I have been using it for years. However, they recently updated their arsenal of available 'language pairs' and I must say that I am not impressed about the Chinese-English, English-Chinese versions. It seems to contain quite a lot of 'errors' and often the wrong part(s) of the word/phrase is highlighted. Other than that, Linguee is really one of the best tools for translators out there.
